I almost never use capital letters, but…
YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THE LINK I’VE POSTED ON THE COMMENTS BOARD BELOW.
They really do think ‘liberal and progressive’ are just labels and that it’s all about sex and divorce.
It’s about respect and acceptance, you wotsits. And that’s just the values, not the economics. You haven’t got a clue about liberal economics.
I suppose Toni Abela’s idea of being progressive and liberal is miming love-making with a duck-lipped rubber puppet while putting somebody in the stocks for not believing in a god.

And finally he made a Savonarola call to arms. How can I be allowed to say that I am an atheist “u qisu ma gara xejn”.
And then we have this:
‘PN sidelines those with more liberal and less religious views’ – Cyrus Engerer
Which is it going to be?
If I am not mistaken and if I recollect correctly Alfred Sant did not take an oath by kissing the cross when appointed Prime Minister in 1996 but solemnly declared.
Two weights and two measures as usual with Labour.
Two of the Labour Party’s most recent leaders, Dom Mintoff and Alfred Sant, are atheists, so what’s Toni Abela going on about.
And I’d be willing to stake a bet that Joseph Muscat doesn’t believe in God either, but he’s not going to say so. Not because he’s scared of losing votes – though a bit of that too – but because he can’t be arsed.
A self-centred extreme pragmatist of that order is not going to bother with Might, Maybe and the hereafter.
Joseph Muscat an atheist? I don’t think so. Why would an atheist be against gay marriage?
@Kenneth Cassar;
An atheist may be against gay marriage for the same reasons as those of a follower of any religion whatever it may be.
@ Dee:
“An atheist may be against gay marriage for the same reasons as those of a follower of any religion whatever it may be”.
And what reason might that be, if not “God disapproves”? What difference would gay marriage make to “straights”?
We’re always being told there are non-religious reasons for opposing gay marriage. We’re never given any of the reasons.
This is turning scary – which is probably their intention anyway – but all it does is convince me even more to vote PN.
If Joseph Muscat is unable to reign in these lunatics while in opposition what is he going to do in government?
Have you thought that it might actually be worse than that? That he doesn’t even realise they are lunatics, or understand the damage they’re doing?
“Rein” in not reign
Well the Labour Party has two ex-leaders who are atheists.
You are absolutely right, John and they were more than unreliable, they were dangerous.
I would rather have an atheist any day, than a Catholic who happily promises ’till death do us part’ knowing full well that there is a legal get-out clause should a whim so dictate.
And don’t give me the responsible exit clause.
With the way the ‘progressive’ party is prostituting itself, we’ll end up with a quicky divorce system, because that is what the voters dictate.
This Labour hypocrisy is absolutely ridiculous – when will they learn to just shut up. They are running the risk of losing the election again rather than the ‘conservative’ party winning it…then again, keep talking.
Is Toni Abela upset at Lou for candidly admitting to having lost the faith?
Or is he upset that maybe Lou chose to swear upon that which may, to him, still carry meaning?
The problem with the crucifix is that even a born atheist can understand what it means. Let alone those who’ve been through some very serious thinking.
One of the things these idiots love doing is meddling with personal experience, refusing paradox. Everything has to fit their comfort zone.
Out of curiosity, is the swearing on the cross obligatory for everyone, regardless of belief? I’m asking, as when I got married I declared at the registry I’m not a believer and was excused from swearing and kissing – yuck!) the cross, while my wife wasn’t. The court is different?
[Daphne – No, it’s not. Alfred Sant spoke under oath in court that morning, but I don’t remember what he did. There is an alternative.]
Joseph Muscat should seize this opportunity and set up another one of those Labour ghettos: Ateji Laburisti – with a Facebook page of its own,.
Toni Abela wouldn’t approve.
