  1. Yeled Shovav says:

Alphaville’s Forever Young has got to be one of the most depressing songs ever written.

[Daphne – I agree. I hated it even back in 1984.]

  2. Chris Ripard says:

Yayy – the Stranglers!! Second only to ELO in my book.

  3. Harry Purdie says:

Jeez, Daphne, you made me turn off the sound of the Patriots vs the Cowboys football game (American football) just now! ESPN live!

    I loved Chicago!

  4. NGT says:

I prefer this Chicago number – always reminds me of the good old Barrels days.

I love how the YouTube title highlights that it’s “Stereo Sound”. Then again, I was three when Sony launched the CD player.

[Daphne – My record-player was MONO, and it cost the equivalent of five weeks’ wages in 1980.]

  5. Joe Micallef says:

KISSSSSSS! Wow! by any chance do you go as far as classic AC/DC.

The aussies accompany me to work following a solid espresso – Haydn takes me back home.

In my opinion this is the most depressing song ever. I had the same feeling when I heard it as a child.

[Daphne – It was a perennial favourite on P O Box Ghaxra on Rediffusion.]

I was born in ’75 but I never cared for 80s music preferring my dad’s collection of LPs from the 60s and 70s; ELO, Santana and obviously the Beatles and the Stones which led on to Zeppelin (best band ever, period), Deep Purple, Hendrix etc…

I’ll contribute possibly the most underrated band of all time (yes, they were at Woodstock):
