The real comment of the day
I think this person is right. Jeffrey Pulllicino Orlando has probably crossed over to Labour already. He doesn’t have to put out an advertisement about it, given his way of thinking.
And he really has tipped over the edge. He’s now posting the exact same things about me twice over on his Facebook wall, the equivalent of those crazy letters I used to receive from obsessives, repeating the same thing over and over again.
He writes something, then copies and pastes it again a couple of hours later, with the same two photographs which he’s taken from the anonymous slander-site tasteyourownmedicine.

During the “back to the 80s” show on Super One yesterday, it was so glaringly obvious that JPO has already crossed over to Labour that one keeps wondering how the PN cannot find a way to stop this farce from repeating itself every hour on Facebook and every day on Super One or Malta Today.
True, there is the 1-seat majority issue but Jeffrey is no elderly Mintoff and he knows that if he topples the government it will be the end of his political career.
And I doubt if he wants that – to the contrary he is in love with the camera, microphone or anything which puts him in the limelight. I do not think he is ready to sacrifice his political career yet.
But his continuous actions and associations with anything that is anti-PN and anti-government are exposing the lack of leadership within the same PN – in not being able to control the guy and subject an own elected MP and Chairman of a National Body to party discipline.
Eddie was so damn clear on this one last week on Bondi+.
Is it possible that within the PN and higher structures of government there is no one able to put the house in order?
Do we have to wait another 18 months and a crushing defeat at the polls until someone realises that this is simply intolerable?
How can we expect high standards from village tesserati turned local councillors but then tolerate all this mockery from a nationally elected MP?
Comparisons are odious but this situation would not have been allowed to escalate to this point when the PN administration was led by people who were able to take the right decisions at the right time.
The party leadership has to take decisive actions to stop this Jeffrey circus and have the media and public opinion focus not on what JPO says or does but on the government’s actions and success in developing this economy and nation of ours.

JPO should resign his parliament membership. He does not represent his constituents anymore.
The PN is dealing with Jeffrey in its traditional way.
The party gives him all the rope he needs to hang himself with.
That is exactly why he is desperate. If the party were to confront him, it would be playing into his hands. This is what he yearns for. This is why he has delusions of being tapped, spied upon, ganged up against etc. The man is utterly deranged.
As far as the PN is concerned he is a has-been.
He cannot cause more damage to the party then he did on the eve of the last general elections.
His behaviour is showing him up for what he is.
The PN is a giant and he is a miserable cuckold.
I agree that the party should stay aloof and see him off to the PL skip.
What JPO does not realize (enforcing the view that he has flipped) is that his antics are also being noted by the Labour Party.
Jeff’s situation is that he has completely destroyed his credibility and has obviously become totally untrustworthy to his own party.
What guarantee can he offer the LP once he jumps into the skip?
What will the LP offer him in exchange? A ministry if they are elected? Can the LP afford to hang yet another millstone around its neck going into next election?
If JPO operates the same way at his office while pulling teeth, one can imagine the pain he inflicts on his patients like he is inflicting on himself within the political circles by his illogical behaviour.
Put simply: Dan lanqas minn RCC ma jibza’? Meta kullhadd imwahhax minnu?
The last paragraph holds the key to resolving this issue once and for all. JPO has been elected to serve the electorate, not himself. He’s been appointed chairman of the council for science and technology to see that the industrial strategy set by this administration is implemented.
Fine, he set the ball rolling on a civil right, now what? Does he intend to spend the next eighteen months playing with his Facebook page? Government’s success in developing the nation depends, in the council’s remit, to a considerable degree, on the signals it sends to the stakeholders, both local and foreign.
If he threw his weight around regarding research and development as much as he did with divorce, the sector would respond accordingly. His gratuitious behaviour is extremely damaging, and given the investment aspect, carries ramifications which cannot be underestimated.
The first reality check, an urgent one, is his performance in such a role. People are starting to ask why he’s allowed to remain in that position. The sector in question is unforgiving in its timing. Being late means missing patents, losing out on funding and giving the impression that the field in question is not a priority after all. Tell that to foreign venture capitalists and risk managers shopping around. Focus is key here.
Given that he accepted the position, the onus to explain rests solely with him
Quite clearly, the introduction of divorce legislation has not given him the personal serenity and peace of mind and heart he hoped for.
Is there a specific reason why Eddie hates JPO so much? Three guesses?
[Daphne – People who are steadfast and correct have no time for jerks. I imagine that Jeffrey epitomises the very qualities he finds contemptible. And I wouldn’t use the word hate because he’s not the type of person to feel hatred – only contempt, which is different.]
Who the hell gives a flying wotsit, Kev? You’re so Lilliputian.
Where did you get the idea that Eddie hates JPO?
Pities JPO is more likely.
Why are you blaming the PM for his lack of discipline on JPO and the rest of the rowdy crew?
You should be either placing the palm of your hand on your heart and saying mea culpa or pointing your finger at the so called disgruntled Nationalists who put the PM in a weak and precarious situation by not voting.
[Daphne – I have done both, repeatedly. And I also said, in open court last week, how very much I regret having voted for Pullicino Orlando, unleashing all his crazy wrath as a result of that.]
If it wasn’t for these people (who are probably the same ones who are now chastising Gonzi), the PM would be in a strong position to sack all the wrong doers instead of having to lump them.
