A magistrate’s official car, used to deliver toys for Marlene Mizzi’s toy shop

Talking about Sandro Chetcuti (see previous post) reminds me that I have more news about Labour’s Business Forum.
An acquaintance ordered last week some products from The Early Learning Centre, the toys franchise which Marlene Mizzi, chief of that Labour business think-tank, runs.
The toys were delivered in her husband’s official car, by a man who seemed to be the official driver who comes with the official car. Her husband is the magistrate Antonio Mizzi.
My acquaintance was charged for delivery.
I have heard several such reports of the magistrate’s official car being used as a delivery van for his wife’s toy business, but this was the first that came to me directly from a trusted person.

Baby Maddy Doll must feel like a “mara ta’ success” on her way to her new home in a chauffeur-driven limousine.

This is utterly shocking.
Marlene please explain.
MR MAGISTRATE PLEASE EXPLAIN!
“Ghaqal.”
Mr magistrate, please resign
Your acquaintance should make sure that what he is saying is correct.
[Daphne – Indeed it is. I know a good deal more than I let on, having held back on the specifics so as not to render identifiable the person/s to whom the delivery was made.]
The consequences for such things could and should be catastrophic not for Mrs Mizzi but for her husband.
[Daphne – Why would they be? We know for a fact that judges and magistrates can and will do exactly as they please because there is no controlling mechanism. Others have done far worse and held on – no need to mention names.]
I sincerely hope they have a valid reason, if of course this really happened, and of course if it happened in the period that the car was assigned to the magistrate for official use.
If I am correct, cars assigned to magistrates and judgesare hired from garages to be used for their official duties, when not being used, there is nothing to keep the garages from making use of them for private work.
[Daphne – Not quite, Silvio. Their officlal cars are part of their ‘package’, to be used 24 hours a day whenever and however they please. Proper people would draw the line, however, at interpreting this to mean letting your wife use it as a delivery van for her business.]
Has it become compulsory for toys to take a magisterial ride?
Oh dear.

Sorry Daphne, this is no news at all since every day at around 8.00am one can see this official car delivering new stock to the ELC shop in Merchants Street. EVERY DAY.
