From Earl Grey to spirituality

Ring somebody far more qualified than I am if you want an explanation for Jeffrey’s polar swings, in the space of days, between Earl-Grey-induced vicious behaviour and overnight spirituality.
Here he is now, on Facebook:
Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando
We desperately need to find a common way forward. The animosity which some seem to find pleasure in nurturing between us does NOT have the approval of the majority of Maltese and Gozitans and is poisoning the local political scene. It’s time to move from form to substance.
This wish is reflected in the words of both of the leaders of the two major political parties :
It would be far better had the government and the opposition been working TOGETHER on further strengthening the economy and safeguarding jobs (Dr. Lawrence Gonzi)
Dr. Joseph Muscat regularly shows he is in favour of a movement which gathers all within it, and one which sees across party boundaries, ignoring if one has red or blue affiliations. “a coalition of people united in their readiness to bring about change in the country TOGETHER.”
Let’s do it !!
I imagine that Marisa Micallef, she of the Red Blue Prince, has been yanking his chain. Well, let’s just say I hope it was only his chain and also that the reason for these extreme mood swings is legal. I am certain, in fact, that it is, and that the reason for this bipolar behaviour lies elsewhere.
But not so fast. Here’s Jeffrey again, quoted in The Sunday Times this morning:
“I think this is the reason behind the Prime Minister’s call for this confidence vote, which I support. We need to put people’s mind at rest that there is a stable government because it is not in the country’s interest to give the impression the government is unstable.”
The Red Blue Prince isn’t going to be happy with that, but it’s entirely consistent with Jeffrey’s now mythical mood swings and surges of paranoia.

My late mum would have muttered that forsi mar i-l knisja u ghamel qrara generali halli jkollu paci f’ qalbu.
It is more likely that he went to see Pastor Gordon.
“a coalition of people united in their readiness to bring about change in the country TOGETHER.”
Let’s do it !!
Would that be Pastor Gordon Gay No More, or Farder Gordon tal-Ferrari ta’ Sandro?
The pussy relaxation treatment worked. Didn’t one follow him home last week?
Is he suggesting a national government?
Someone’s yanking something.
Joseph’s PL message is very simple: ‘Voting for us will be akin to voting for an assimilated PN.’
Franco, Jesmond and Jeffrey have all been duped into thinking that Labour’s agenda is genuine when it comes to political discourse.
It isn’t. And not just because he has nothing to offer, playing poker with the democratic agenda instead, but given the deceit inherent in the opposition leader’s attitude towards the electorate, including his party, where a balancing act has been possible given the looming elections.
Jeffrey and Franco have gone to great pains lately, explaining their loyalty towards their constituents, unwittingly, one hopes, playing his game called ‘a movement crossing party boundaries’. What they don’t realise is that loyalty in politics, requires form to be substantiated.
He didn’t move one step forward on his party’s European policy, hasn’t come up with one sound economic proposal, chickened out when it came to divorce, panders to the extreme right and teases the building lobby with nondescript innuendoes. His only talent is that of going for others’ weakness the moment he sees it, giving nothing in return. Do they really think he’ll recognise their efforts?
Ask Joseph Cuschieri.
If Joseph were sincere, he would have tired us out with proposals, arguments and debates. He didn’t, preferring to play safe, reversing Sant’s exclusion of the violent element, whilst making of the Labour Party a soft copy of the PN, intentionally taking the game up one notch, ‘his’ Labour is now closer to the ‘old’ PN, whatever that means. Nothing new here, all he’s doing is what Mintoff did, hijacking someone else’s identity, excluding memory.
The only difference being that Joseph wants to appropriate Eddie Fenech Adami’s PN as well as Mintoff’s MLP.
Stability requires an opposition which has the capability to stand on its own two feet, not these tricks. It’s high time the PN understood and uncovered his cheap play with words, ideas, people and democracy. I say the PN, not the government, because that’s where his weak spot lies, and which he has been trying to avoid all this time.
The PN needs to bring back politics and its meaning, upstaging the ones who think chameleonitic posturing is all there is to it.
We need change from this crap, and only that which is authentic can do it.
The motivation? Imagine this individual facing the responsibility of authority and decision making for the good of the country. Will he acknowledge Jeffrey or Franco or anyone else when the hardcore and the newcomers are at hard at it?
I don’t think so.
This man needs help.
As very often happens in these cases he will not get any because of poor compliance on his part.
He feels more at home in Joseph’s skip. He just wrote it himself.
