Please steel yourself and watch this video, in which the chairman of SMS Mondial’s Orange Travel Group and a director of online gambling company Betfair gives a speech to the Labour Party’s annual general conference, in which he insults the former president and prime minister, denigrates the present prime minister and runs the government down.
He also says nothing about the electoral programme he is supposed to be writing.
Yes, the Labour Party’s electoral programme is being written by the chairman of SMS Mondial’s Orange Travel Group and a director of Betfair.
I don’t know who should be more ashamed of Karmenu Vella: SMS, Mondial, Betfair or the Labour Party.

In Labour’s manifesto, this Betfair director will probably propose that the government should balance the annual budget by organising a series of lotteries and tombolas, with the prize consisting of an Orange cruise to Tunis.
