Independent and unbiased Josanne Cassar update
Not only is she a niece of Mintoff’s minister of education, Philip Muscat (brrrrr), but it turns out that her sister Miriam is/was married to Dominic Mintoff, brother of the horrible weasel on the right in this photograph, and nephew of that ghastly demented creature who’s taking so long to die that my special champagne is going off.
Miriam Mintoff was an AD candidate (she has since become Miriam Cassar) in the last EP elections, but independent and unbiased Josanne signally failed to inform readers of her column about this crucial fact – just as her bosom buddy Claire Bonello over at The Sunday Times made a point of never telling her readers that she is an AD activist, leaving it up to them to find out for themselves.
So false. And tacky.

I remember her once on Xarabank saying that she traditionally voted PN and found it hard to tick Labour on the ballot sheet.
[Daphne – Yes, right. So hard that she picked as a boyfriend somebody who worked at Super One.]
Maybe he picked her because no one else did.
Miriam Mintoff’s hi5 profile…

Wenzu has a brother named Dominic? You can’t be serious.
Next you’ll be telling me he’s named after his father.
[Daphne – My thoughts exactly, but I thought it best not to bring up the subject.]
As someone once said “at the end, we’re all dead”. That includes me….and you of course too Daphne. Not sure if anyone will be popping off corks from champagne bottles when that happens, but as far as I’m concerned, it would leave me stone cold (excuse the pun) if it were done when my time is up.
One question: what does the venom in your mouth taste like? I sincerely pity you.
[Daphne – Right now, it tastes of very strong builders’ tea. I had better clarify what that means, perhaps, in case one of your websites runs a story raving about how cruel I am to workers and that I stole my builder’s tea. On second thoughts, perhaps not. I need a laugh under all this deadline pressure.]
Mandango, sitting here in Switzerland, I’m having difficulty following your ‘line of thought’.
It was Keynes who said, when talking about economic forecasting, that ‘in the long run, we are all dead’. That’s why it is best to forecast long term.
You appear to dislike Daphne and her blog, but you persist in displaying your biased ignorance. Do you have a hidden fetish?
Question (honestly): how do you reconcile such comments about Dom Mintoff with your recent post about the comments on timesofmalta.com regarding Austin Gatt’s health?
[Daphne – Mintoff considered himself to be an exception to every rule, and I am merely obliging him. ]
Daphne,
Thank you for confirming what I always thought about this person.
