I think he was a sport, and wore something which befits a mature student.

3/4 of these will end up at ETC on the dole.

  5. LVella says:

Is that really what you should be commenting about here?

  6. Antoine Vella says:

It was safe for Charlon; not a handbag in sight.

  7. Neil Dent says:

I like the way he went back for a second hand-shake. Nice effort – shame about the rest!

  8. Matthew Cutajar says:

What an irrelevant post! I would like to personally thank both Charlon for being a great sport in joining us at the Stamperija as well as all my other colleagues who visited both the Labour headquarters as well as SuperOne. This is a perfect example of people coming together not an opportunity to bring up political divide!

Jaqq x’hamallagni! Ghal ftit ma bellawlux sidirhom dawk it-tfajliet!!!

  10. Andrew says:

Are these bozos, the future lawyers of malta (chanting like hooligans) seriously all worshipping the man who was anti-divorce and of the ‘religio pro patria’ mindset? Prospective law-makers/benders and politicians all pledging their allegiance to the confessional party?

[Daphne – Au contraire. They look to me like a group of what, in my time, we used to call ‘goodies’. Hardly rock ‘n’ roll. Very clean-living and probably quite conservative and even a bit nerdy. Funny how much you can tell about groups of people by their faces, hair, clothes and general behaviour. They look like anything but thugs. You can really tell they’re middle class (the real thing) and were raised in nice homes by decent parents. Now picture the same crowd, but voting Labour.]

    • Prefer to be Anon says:

Hooligans are the kind who pick fights and cause grievous bodily harm to an innocent person in Paceville, nearly killing him. You’d know a lot about that, wouldn’t you Andrew?

On the other hand, people having a good time, chanting, drinking and not causing any trouble are certainly not to be called hooligans.

Let them have fun, for goodness sake.

PS: Your status on FB didn’t give you enough feedback, so you had to post the exact same thing here too.

I never sympathized with Mr Gouder but when I saw this video I think that the only person who showed any dignity, it was him. I do not know if he went jumping and shouting hysterically in front of Muscat, (If he did it would have been likewise a sorry sight). I feel very disturbed and disillusioned when I see such behavior from people…………………….that should and have to know better.

[Daphne – That’s because he’s a lot older than they are. When I graduated at 33, I didn’t go round shouting and blowing horns or wearing a special T-shirt. Charlon Gouder is in the same position. I’m surprised he went on that bus, quite frankly. He’s a little too old for that kind of thing, and a married man.]

  13. carmel says:

Does this mean that all university students are Nationalist supporters?

    • La Redoute says:

A couple of sensible questions which you could have asked and answered all by yourself:

1 Are these ALL the graduates (they’re not students) of the University of Malta?

2 Is Charlon Gouder a Nationalist?

  14. Romeo Busuttil says:

Can someone explain to me what the connection is between the PM and their graduation? They should be happy and proud to have graduated thanks to years of hard work. This video shows how pathetic our mentality still is. And while on the subject, why is it that at this time most new graduates are allowed to behave as they please and everyone, including the police, turn a blind eye. Anyone passing through Msida during the past few days could see busloads of graduates bulging out of overloaded buses screaming their heads off. One bus was so loaded that some ( I believe they were the computer engineers) were even on the steps. I also personally saw a guy laying down on the bonnet of a car while it was driving around in the area of the junior college. Pathetic and totally irresponsible. Are these the future generation our country will rely on?

  16. Claudette says:

@Romeo probabli li bil-job lest dawk ghalhekk qed jifirhu. Kieku kienu qed jifirhu mal-kap ta’ l-oppozizzjoni nimmagina li l-kelma “Hamalli” kienet tkun prominenti fir-running commentary, u fil-kummenti ta’ hafna hawn gew. Malta’s finest!

    • Ian says:

Actually, no such thing as a ‘job lest’ in this case because the graduates in question still have 3 more years of being students at UOM. They graduated as bachelors of law. They still have 1 more year to become notaries and then 2 more to become lawyers.

  17. Albert Farrugia says:

And some say that “Malta has changed”!! All that has happened is that blind faith in the Catholic Church has been transformed into blind faith into the “political”, or better, the tribal parties, infact. After a generation of PN governments, a twisted country indeed! And about Gouder, well, he must be given credit for not being a spoilsport, joining in regardless, shaking hands with the PM, smiling while enduring the chants of “Nazzjonalisti, Nazzjonalisti”. I dont get the point about the jacket, though. I suppose even Dr Gonzi was protecting himself from a cold, by the same argument. But ok, a vintage Daphne comment. Impressive and hurts on impact, fades away quickly later, much like a mosquito sting infact.
