Surely the ‘south’ deserves better than this sorry excuse of an insult

Unbelievable ….. Ministru ghas-South.
And one for the rest of the corners , oh and one for the middle . For f..ks sake this is an island of 20 by 9 miles .
I see that the main reason for which he is convinced Labour should govern is primarily that Labour has been in opposition for practically 25 years.
Ghax issa huma imissom.
Nothing more to add, is there?
He should go for an interview on “Min Imissu?” then.
“Ix-xoghol tih li min jaf jaghmlu”, jghid il-Malti. Ghalhekk min ilu daqshekk fl-oppozizzjoni suppost li sar espert u ahjar jibqa’ jaghmel l-istess xoghol.
If you felt sick, would you go to a doctor fresh out of medical school, or would you opt for a seasoned and proven practitioner?
This is no time for giving anyone a trial run. There’s too much riding on it. Five years could undo all the progress which has been registered against all odds.
With the world’s stage being what it is, experimentation could sound the death knell of the country’s finances for many years to come.
“Ministru ghas-South”
God help us ‘southerners’.
“Wasal it-turn ghal Partit Laborista”.
Do these people think that politics is a game? You’ve been playing for long enough, now it’s my turn?
I would say that this kind of thinking is unbelievable, but nothing the Labour Party comes up with surprises me anymore, except if they would ever make any sense.
Now that would be a surprise.
It is time to have a Labour government, not because they deserve to be in government, but because they have been in Opposition for 25 years. Why, can’t they count from 26 upwards?
Sweet home Birzebbuga
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Birzebbuga
Lord, I’m coming home to you
Back to El Clasico
It seems that Silvio has put in some blond highlights to complement his interesting new hair-cut with a parting on the side, rather than the top, of his head..
If the PL is ever trusted with government we deserve to be hanged – and if Joseph gives a ministerial portfolio to Silvio Parnis, then he should be hanged too.
Putting his trust in such “speakers” proves that he has no judgement and that he has nobody better to choose.
So Gozo will have a minister and the “south” will have a minister. What about the “north”? And the “centre”? How come they won’t have ministers too?
There’s a spokesman for the north, too.
They should make a separate republic ghal naqra…

It is a pity Labour is not a good alternative. I hasten to add that it is embarrassing as well.
Countries which have the same party in government for so long are associated with totalitarian regimes and not incompetent alternatives. Malta is a rare exception.
We all wish it wasn’t like this and there was a healthy alternation of power.
We deserve better.
[Daphne – The Nationalists have been in power for just 13 years, Village, not 25. The Conservatives were in power in Britain from 1979 to 1997: 18 years. This was immediately followed by 13 years of a Labour government: between 1997 and 2010. And nobody spoke about totalitarian regimes. This is democracy at work.]
Driving the message home, isn’t he? ” Heqq issa il-Partit Laburista ilu kwazi kwart ta’ seklu fl-oppozizzjoni … “.
Labour should remember that the “sawt” is not a ghetto and it is an integral geographic part of Malta. Next, we will be having Cyrus Engerer as Minister for Sliema and surroundings.
Please, don’t rub it in.
Do you know that the interviewer is actually his private secretary?
Browse this blog, his name is Vincent Debono aka Vincent D http://vincentdebono.wordpress.com/about/
If you click the About section icon, at the bottom of the screen in small fonts you’ll find this information.
Instead of actively and effectively helping ‘people in need’, all this man seems to be doing is ‘fund-raising’ for god only knows who.
As a ‘fund-raiser’ he could be doing a lot to help, but judging from his Facebook exhibitionism, all Silvio Parnis seems to be preoccupied about is his own agendas.
I live in the south of Malta and to think that the PL is going to appoint a Minister for the South is appalling!.
What is so special about the south that Joseph wants to ghettoize it with a minister dedicatedto it?
Or is Joseph going to make a Minister for the North, West and East also?
But then, my fears of being ghettoized by a Minister for the South turns into a nightmare when I imagine that this minister will be Silvio Parnis.
Maybe Silvio should visit Mintoff’s greatest tribute to the south: the coal ash tip which destroyed Wied Fulija.
Reno Calleja himself was ostracised for daring to oppose it.
I suggest that to resolve this dispute, Joseph should have the following:
1. A minister for the North
2. A minister for the South
3. A minister for the East
4. A minister for the West
5. A minister for the North West
6. A minister for the North East
7. A minister for the South West
8. A minister for the South East
9. A minister for Gozo
10. A minister for Comino
11. A minister for Cominetto
12. A minister for Filfla
13. A minister for Manoel Island
14. A minister for the Gzejjer ta’ San Pawl
Since Joseph is going to lower the salary of the Ministers, those 14 ministers are going to be WERTIT.
Daphne, please allow me to say how I feel:
Ministru tat-toqba ta’ sormi.
Well, colorectal screening was a big thing in this year’s budget speech. I say the nether regions deserve their own ministry.
Specialists in the nether regions are bum doctors. Beware.
Mela ghawdex se jkollhom ministru. Is – south ukoll. U in- north u c-centru xejn?
The real danger for Malta’s future is not just the euro financial crisis. A far more unnerving prospect is having a Labour government which has’t got a clue.
There was a point at which I thought it inevitable that they would win the next election, that it might as well happen and be gotten over with.
I do feel sorry for those who see this coming and are (almost) helpless to prevent it. Salvana nitolbuk, Mulej.
If Joey can convince Merkel to foot the bill then we have no problem.
He can scatter forty or fifty people from his skip around Brussels, Strasbourg, Luxembourg and Frankfurt.
Plum jobs for the boys.
Who cares, as long as they are kept at a safe distance from Malta.
If there’s one thing this will produce, it’s even more clientelism, strengthening the serf mentality.
Maybe Joseph intends to declare the south a depressed region, applying for objective EU funding.
It is not only the ‘south’ that deserves better. Malta deserves better than a Labour government.
Edward Scicluna is giving the lie to Joseph Muscat’s promise to lower electricity tariffs. Who are we to believe?
Is the Labour Party saying that it will discriminate between the south and the north? Why not a minister for the north too? Maybe even one for the west and one for the east just to be on the safe side.
Silvio Parnis’s comments as to why the MLP should win the next election are very insightful.
There’s a word for south in Maltese, and it’s nofsinhar. So why don’t they use it?
Ghax kif isemmilhom nofsinhar johorgulek bil-break.
Because Labour geniuses will then ask for a Ministru ghal Filghaxija and a Ministru ghal Filghodu.
Just imagining these morons running my country in the near future sends shivers down my spine.
“Ghax Joseph dejjem jivvinta!, taaaa!”
Per carita. And the reasoning behind it:
Ministru Ghas-Sawt (mank Ministru Ghan-Nofsinhar ta’ Malta) biex jimpika man-Nazzjonalisti, li ghamlu Ministru ta’ Ghawdex.
The Mayor of Marsascala will be the Ministru tas-Sawt since he heads the Labour Council which is anti-everything this government does which mirrors the Labour Party’s policy. Anti-Sant’Antnin recycling plant, anti Delimara Power Station, anti-extension and definitely silent on Josph’s pet project named ‘Sargas’.
Let Joseph speak. Let’s have seven Sunday sermons each week. The more he talks, the less sense he makes and more and more leave his ‘make believe’ fold and embrace reality.
