The Hmieg Chronicles

I’m waiting for the first Labour elVE to pop in here and say that Alex Sceberras Trigona doesn’t know Maltese – you know, because his Maltese and his accent are identical to mine (except that I don’t say ‘xbin/gbin’, tell people ‘hawn int’, or pronounce it as ‘parteggan- iiiiiiizmu’.
He’s one of your own, my dears. Aren’t you lucky. A token tal-pepe (the real thing, that is, and not what the chavs think are tal-pepe), but with the attitude of Ronnie Pellegrini.
Najs.

This is a wake up call. It too dangerous to trust these people once again.
Did you ever have any doubt about that?
Ma kienx jarah il-hmieg f’Xandir Malta fi zmienhom?
To me this attitude of theirs only confirms that they will bring back the real hmieg if Malta has the misfortune of having a Labour government any time soon. No surprise really, mill-hmieg mhux hmieg tistenna?
I must give it to you, AST is the Austin Gatt of PL. Seems like every party has its own black sheep.
[Daphne – I’m uploading this knowing that Dr Gatt won’t sue me for libel for doing so. AST is nothing like him, and the comparison is slanderous. You only have to read my posts about the thugs who used to hang around the door to AST’s ministerial office. And then there are the competence issues, plus the fact that somebody honest and decent (despite the horribly difficult personality) would never have appended himself to Mintoff’s and KMB’s governments or even party. I remember AST as a government minister, Gino, even if you don’t. Horrible. Really awful. ]
‘Dr Gatt won’t sue me for libel for doing so’
Bet you he would if he you uploaded a comment comparing him to Silvio.
Joke apart, Austin is a doer and a go getter who will steam on to do what is right.
The Maltese mentality is more used to the wait and see, the cautious approach (lest we offend). Most condem the fella for Arriva, but few consider that it took an Austin to drag the bus service into the modern era. I am not saying he is perfect, and I doubt if even he would think so, but by god does Malta need him.
How can you compare AST with Dr. Gatt?
Dr. Gatt may not be the most diplomatic of politicians and certainly he’s not soft-spoken but he’s certainly one to count on when things need to get done and when the going got tough he wasn’t certainly one to shy away.
I reckon that most criticism levelled at Dr. Gatt is only the result of sheer envy.
Funny pronunciation of secretary – seg-kree-tree.
[Daphne – Oh yes, I forgot to bring that up.]
Inhasad Alex, miskin!
Ghax ma semmghalux “Run rabbit run”, forsi kien jikkalmah naqra.
Skond Alex kien ikun ‘bilanc’.
Kif ma jisthux.
Il-lostra xi hdura u ksuhat ta’ ragel. U x’ naive hu l-gurnalist, ghax dak missu waqqaf il-programm mil-ewwel u mela halla din il-purkerija ghaddejja fuq l-istazzjon nazzjonali.
AST, JPO…people distinguishing themselves by having three names (or 2 surnames) are most often arrogant and they do not know it. DCG…the list is endless.
Hard Facts, you only have two, I would reckon, right? So, I would also presume that you’re saying this without having any hard facts to prove your point.
Mela fettilli nara l-clip ta’ wara fejn is-Super One habbar il-mawra ta’ Joseph ma AST gol Libja ta’ Gaddafi. Lanqas huma laghqin ukoll……Joseph anke ingravata hadra libes biex mar izur lix Sugar Daddy, who’s no more.
They are angry because in their heart of hearts they know that they are still looking for a decent leader. And it is Sceberras not Sciberras. The family is ex-Constitutional Party, and all families have their black sheep.
Could someone tell AST that he badly needs to change that horrible suit. It looks like the same suit he used to wear when he was a Labour Minister. What is Marisa doing in the Labour Party?
