A classic

Bruno Leporatti, defence lawyer to the now notorious Francesco Schettino, erstwhile captain of the sunken cruise liner, was interviewed by the press.
Read this classic line.
Asked what caused the disaster, Dr Leporatti replied: “He found a rock along his route.”

I find this video from Crozza is in sheer bad taste…at least there should be some empathy with the families of the ones that perished.
Tell me why you are voting against your government, Debono. What do you want to do, Debono? Go home? It’s dark, and you want to go home? You haven’t been promoted, so you want to go abandon ship? Get on board for _ _ _ _ _ sake.
Hmm, I see, pretty much in line with what the captain said. Apparently he didn’t abandon the ship; he ‘tripped’ into the lifeboat as it was conveniently being lowered into the sea.
The Italian version of ‘hariglu arblu ghan-nofs’.
In Maltese we say “hariglu arblu tad-dawl”.
We now need to know who put that rock there. He has to be brought to justice.
Very good article today, Daphne. http://www.independent.com.mt/news.asp?newsitemid=138425
I agree that Crozza poking fun at the situation is in bad taste.
There are people out there still hoping that members of their family gone missing somehow resurface.
As to Schettino, he is obviously another arrogant incompetent prick. Apparently he was known to be very full of himself. He always insisted on taking vessels close to shore to salute “islands” and their residents, surrounded himself with Romanian women and bragged that he was the best commander Costa had.
From interviews I’ve seen on Italian TV, Neapolitans from his village seem to believe that he’s God’s gift to seafaring.
This goes to further confirm my firm belief that arrogance and self-centredness invariably mask insecurity and incompetence.
It is only a question of time before the true nature of the individual comes out.
Unfortunately, in this case it took a capsized ship to find out that Commandante Schettino is afraid of the dark.
Don’t misunderstand Crozza – some members of the audience were laughing but he, in his comicity, was dead serious.
At one point he did actually point out that there was nothing funny and that the situation was, to say the least, pathetic.
A bit out of context but fitting, Think little Joey.
‘An arrogant, incompetent prick’. ‘Arrogance and self-centredness invariably mask insecurity and incompetence.’
Our own little asshole will be the first to jump ship after he totally screws up.
Everyone got a life jacket?
