Good God, no wonder they didn’t use his report on political party financing

Is there a corner large enough for our man?

Just take a look at Franco Debono’s CV on the parliament website. It’s full of mistakes.

———

Dr. Debono was born on the 9th March 1974. He was eductaed in Saint Aloysious College and furthered his studies at the University if Malta where he focusedon Law and Teology as the main subjects.

Dr. Debono has worked exclusively in the field of criminal law, and set up his own law firm. He was voted into Parliament at the last general election, as is the youngest Member of Parliament on the government side.

Hon. Franco Debono is based on the right to justice and is a fundamental human right, something the PN always believed in and fought for, as issues concerning Parliament and the enviromnment are pillars of its creed.

Dr. Franco Debono’s main areas of interest are constitutional matters, justice and the environment and he is the Chairman of the Select Committee on Re-codification and Consolidation of Laws.

“AN MP WITH A SENSE OF DUTY

Nationalist MP FRANCO DEBONO speaks frankly to Chiara Bonello
about party financing, parliamentary resources, the right to legal assistance
and environmental issues and other matters

      :. 24th October 10

“I got into politics very early, and ran for my first election at the age of 23, while still a law student. For the next 10 years I persevered, waiting patiently, working relentlessly, and in the meantime concentrating on my profession” Franco Debono said.

Dr Debono has worked exclusively in the field of criminal law, and set up his own law firm. He was voted into Parliament at the last general election, as is the youngest Member of Parliament on the government side.

“I have always had to work very hard to get results, both in my legal practice and in politics. I am a very hard worker and my loyalty to the party is not only unconditional, but also unconditioned.” However, since his election Dr Debono has done anything but rest on his laurels, as he has raised various issues in Parliament, and seen action taken on a number of them.

“All the issues I raised are in line with my party’s beliefs and principles, from the right to legal assistance during interrogations, to the dignity of Parliament and the environmental concerns of the south,” he said.

The former is based on the right to justice and is a fundamental human right, something the PN has always believed in and fought for, as issues concerning Parliament and the environment are pillars of its creed.

In general, our country is faring well, he said, notwithstanding the recession and thereforms being carried out in various sectors, from the rent laws to public transport to the Planning Authority.

However, his main areas of interest are constitutional matters, justice and the environment.”

Isn’t Karl Gouder now the youngest MP?

  2. Kenneth Cassar says:

“Hon. Franco Debono is based on the right to justice and is a fundamental human right”

What? Franco Debono is a fundamental human right?

  3. anthony says:

The third sentence is beyond repair. It has to be rewritten.

However, there are only ten mistakes altogether in the other three.

    • J Abela says:

For a modestly educated person, ten mistakes in a 100-word abstract are a lot.

For someone who portrays himself as the brightest man in the world, you’d aspect no mistakes what so ever. One would also aspect a standard of English which is far superior than that used by a ten-year-old.

  4. Antoine Vella says:

“Hon. Franco Debono is . . . a fundamental human right,”

Another literary genius produced by the Faculty of Laws. He deserves to be right up there, on the same pedestal as Anglu Farrugia.

  5. bookworm says:

I wonder which one of the fundamental human rights he is.

  6. Sarah says:

    This is appalling.

  7. Jozef says:

‘Chairman of the Select Committee on Re-codification and Consolidation of Laws.’

Yet he insists he’s being left out.

It would be in the public interest to know what he’s really accomplished.

The impression I get is that Franco expects to give orders to others instead of contributing with plain hard work. His protest to the expectation to push for things indicates he doesn’t really own his work.

This could explain why he calls a cut and paste job from the Italian system ‘radical constitutional changes’ and why whatever he’s involved in becomes controversy.

Franco wouldn’t last a week in a private company with strict deadlines to follow and where people are trained to share their work, avoiding any pretence to indispensability.

His accusations that his pet projects have been hindered could be addressed to his utter incapacity to take responsibility for his actions. I empathise with Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici; I wouldn’t go anywhere near Franco on work-related issues.

  8. La Redoute says:

Hon Franco Debono is a fundamental human right?

And there I was thinking that he was just a jumped up prick.

  9. Jacky says:

Did Franco Debono type this himself, or was it typed by some typist whose main qualification is membership in a certain political party?

  10. Dee says:

Did some elve from the Fondazzjoni Idejat write that resume’?

  11. ciccio says:

I took the trouble to rewrite his cv for him based on what we learned recently. I used the Maltese language, because some words just cannot be translated without loosing their context:

Dr. Franco Debono minn dejjem kien bravu. Meta kien zghir, ghamel il-priedka tat-tifel, u biex ghamel hekk qalibha lil tifel iehor li kien ikbar minnu xi 4 snin. Sabiex jarawh in-nies, il-mama’ taghtu kaxxa zghira biex jitla’ fuqha.
Fl-iskola kien “tooop student.” Dejjem fuq quddiem. Gera. Sahansitra, fl-1987, meta fl-ahhar is-Socjalisti Maltin ta’ Karmenu Vella u AST cedew is-siggu tal-poter biex jergghu jiehduh xi darba fl-2012/13, Franco gab 100 fir-Religjon u 87 fil-Matematika, kif juri rizultat tal-Form IIc ta’ San Alwigi li Franco tant ghandu ghal qalbu.
Is-Sixth Form ghamel sena biss, ghax gab l-A levels kollha mill-ewwel.
Ragel bieeeeezel immens. Bena ufficcju legali tieghu mix-xejn. Huwa avukat tal-kriminal eminenti.
Hareg ghal politika minn meta kien ghadu guvnott. Tghidx kemm baaaaaaaata miskin. Izda fl-elezzjonijiet tal-2008, fil-Hames Distrett, gheleb lil Helen d’Amato – dik li stante li ma telghetx, Gonzi hatarha bhala Kummissarju tat-Tfal – u lil Louis Galea, ex-Ministru u veteran kbir tal-Partit. Issa biex teghleb lil Louis Galea vera trid tkun bravu u tkun hdimt iebes.
Minn dejjem kien jikkompeti ma Joseph Muscat, li kien mieghu fil-klassijiet ta’ San Alwigi. In fatti, fir-rizultat tal-Form 2c, it-teacher tal-Maths ikkummentalu “Keep it up.” Ghalhekk, meta wara l-2008 tal-Lejber bdew jiktbu “Keep it Up Joseph” fil-comments board tat-timesonline, taghtu f’ghajnu.
Fil-Parlament, astjena mil-vot kemm-il darba. Biex juri lil Manu Maltes li ghandu linfa kbira, astjena fil-vot ta’ sfiducja f’Austin Gatt, izda fil-vot ta’ fiducja fil-Gvern, ivvota favur.
Irrezenja mil-Partit Nazzjonalista xi 4 darbiet u r-rizenja tieghu qatt ma giet accettata.
Fl-2011, ta’ bravu li hu, ta ultimatum lil-Prim Ministru biex jaqsam il-Ministeru tal-Gustizzja. Imbaghad, meta ma sarx Ministru, irtira l-appogg lil-Gvern u talab lil Prim Ministru jirrizenja.
Ghandu mobile phone li jdoqq anke meta jkun mitfi.
    Matul is-snin, il-hobbies tieghu inkludew il-glied tas-sriedaq u l-football, li jtih l-opportunita jaghmel team building.
