I want, but I didn’t get

In the media hype driven by The Times and Malta Today, it’s easy to forget that this is not about political party financing or an oligarchy of power, as Franco Debono has said it is in his blatant attempt to disguise his petulant and egocentric objectives and desire for revenge.

So I thought it’s time to give this another airing, to remind my readers (who include reporters from The Times and Malta Today) what the real problem is.

Then it’s up to them whether they wish to carry on being disingenuous and pretending, along with Franco, that it’s all about party financing, an oligarchy and our very own Kim Il Sung.

in my e-mail to the PN I informed them that these blogs were a liability to the party, and that if I ever had any political aspirations they will only serve to drive me to the other side. The ball is in their court.

I painstakingly watched the Xarabank clip where Franco Debono was invited along with his mother and if one listens carefully, it reveals a lot about his upbringing.

He says that when he was young, he was in the back room of the church (the sacristy?) when he heard the priest trying to convince another boy to do the ‘priedka tat-tifel’ and he thought what a nice thing it would be if he could do it himself (minn dejjem kien ghajjur u zatat).

So he asked the priest if he could do it but the priest told him that he was still too young (what Dr. Gonzi has probably been trying to tell him all along).

He then says that he went to tell his mother (nahseb mar jugza l-qassis lill-ommu). And here, Franco’s mother butts in and says that he did do the priedka, and he had to stand on a box to be able to reach the ambone’s microphone.

So I gather that his mother went to speak to the priest herself (marret ghas-sodisfazzjon) and the priest probably gave in. If only Franco’s mother had firmly told her son that it is the priest who runs the church and takes the necessary decisions and that he should wait his turn patiently, then Franco might not have turned out the way this way.

If the priest had not let him have his way that year, would Franco have become an atheist or a Jehovah Witness u addio il-100 fir-religion?
