U veru miskin Franco! Lanqas qed jinduna kemm qed iwaqqa’ lilu nnifsu għaż-żufjett.
It-top student jaf ħafna affarijiet, imma ntelliġenza ZERO. Eżempju perfett biex tgħallem tifel ta’ 6 snin id-differenza bejn knowledge u wisdom.
@ Ms Piscopo
“Jiddispjaċini ħafna għal Dr Franco Debono għax f’dawn il-granet għaddej minn massakru”
Massakru? Watched Inkontri yesterday, Franco Debono was enjoying every minute of it. He looked like the happiest man on earth. It was all about himself, remember, and the attention was all on him. Mr Joe Grima played his part very well, speaking with a soft and gentle voice, I was fascinated by his unfailingly glib discussion. It was like a session at the psychologist. He was even asked whether he was physically abused.
Franco’s self-confidence is so high that he miscalculated the risks involved. He challenged his Prime minister thinking that he will succumb to his threats. Over estimating his abilities Franco soon will face a humiliating and destructive outcome. Yes ‘Il-Massakru’ soon coming however it was
‘self-destructive’.
Joking apart – Franco Debono isn’t stupid. He’s ambitious, knows the legal system, hard working, fights hard for his convictions. Everyone seems to agree that he had some good ideas regarding reforms.
So how on earth didn’t he realise that by his actions his political career would be finished? Even if Gonzi decides to resign as PM , does Debono really think he could have any future with the party?
Even if he wanted to join the PL, which he says he doesn’t, I’m sure they wouldn’t risk accepting him.
If he joins AD I suppose he has an easier task of ending up leader.
I really can’t understand it at all.
[Daphne – That’s because you’ve factored out his psychological problems.]
Whist my effort to find my form II report proved useless, I did find something of that time which I am sure Franco will love given his love for Italy.
Guardandosi allo specchio
potrebbe accorgersi che
i suoi capelli devono
essere spuntati,
perciò ti chiederà le forbici.
Poi vorrà una scopa per pulire,
poi sarà stanco e vorrà un lettino
per riposare…
Poi avrà di nuovo fame,
e se tu gli darai un biscotto…
bè, ricomincerà tutto da capo!
How about this suggestion as a solution?
Austin Gatt resigns to help organise elections campaign. Michael Frendo resigns as Speaker and becomes Minister.
The most Hon Franco Debono upgrades from that awful backbench to the highchair of the Speaker thereby not directly under Gonzi. Win win situation.
[Daphne – Next, please.]
Issa miskin dak U miskin l-iehor ….Insew kemm ghajjruh lil Mintoff.
Tkellem kif thoss, DAPHNE, u ibqa sejra hekk. Nammira nies bhalek.
Keep it up.

The last thing anyone has for Franco is pity. How I wish that he ould ask s to join Labour so that they can keep the insecure self-centred, impatient A-rated psycho to themselves.
She obviously doesn’t give a damn about Franco. All she wants is to make sure that the PN falls so that her beloved Joey can win the elections.
He’ll never do that. There is Joseph Muscat in the PL, and as a party leader to boot. I don’t think Franco will accept JM’s leadership just as much as he won’t accept Gonzi’s.
So you are being cruel. Yes, that’s right. At one time Joe Grima said: ” hemm limiti li ma naqbzuhomx”. We do believe him because we were born yesterday.
I go one further. It is Labour who are being cruel because they are taking advantage of a disturbed person who is clearly showing abnormal signs of behaviour. Miskin Franco, imma kif qed jintuza mil-Labour.
Daphne,
Do you think that Dr Gonzi was right when he called for Franco’s resignation? If he will become an independent MP, Dr Gonzi cannot tell his to adhere to the Party’s policies. Then he will have no-one to answer to.
[Daphne – Keep up, No Problem. Franco Debono has been asked to resign his seat, not the party whip/ticket.]

Talk about a need for social approval which hides a major inferiority complex.
Daphne int nhar il gimgha ghid li f’Malta ma tistax iddahhal avukat mieghek waqt l-interrogazjoni mill pulizija. Ilbierah Franco Debono qal fl’ahbarijiet li dan il privilegg gabu hu. Jien lil min ser nemmen lilu jew lilek?
[Daphne – Id-dritt ghal avukat, taht il-ligi gdida taghna, huwa biss dritt biex tikkonsulta avukat qabel ma tidhol ghall-interrogazzjoni. Qabel ma kontx tista taghmel dan. Imma xorta issa ma tistax iddahhal avukat mieghek. Id-dritt li gab Franco huwa dritt nofs lehja.]
There now seems to be a political stalemate.
Franco declares his lack of support to the PM.
The PM does not want to bring the house to a vote of confidence.
Neither does the Opposition.
Obviously, the stands being taken by both the PM and the Opposition are consequential to Franco’s declaration.
The PM is right in not wanting to be the one to call for the vote, because such a vote is not related to any decision the goverment has taken.
The Opposition is correct in not wanting to call for a vote of NO confidence over an MP’s declaration but not for ethical reasons.
They want the ‘dirty’ prize but they don’t want to have anything official to do with the dirt itself.
As for Franco, he is the source of the stalemate.
Knowing his frequent resignations and withdrawals of same, it seems that he likes to play the unofficial role where actions are morally but not necessarily legally binding.
Now Franco, you may truly have not wished that things would get this far but now try to be a gentleman before you leave parliament.
Don’t try to divorce your actions from their consequences. You can’t sit on the fence on this one.

It would be interesting to know how many LIKES she managed to accumulate.

What a change of heart. Isn’t Dalli going to be invited by Joe Grima to discuss the present crisis? He was good enough to discuss and comment on the power station. Why not now? What has changed? He was commissioner then just as he is now.

Read the last part. I think he’s referring to you.
[Daphne – Joe Borg and I agree on many things but part company on many others, one of which is what constitutes a ‘personal attack’ or even more, a ‘despicable personal attack’. I don’t remember him ever writing anything similar when members of my own family were subjected to truly despicable personal attacks, the sort derived from lies and slander. To say that Franco Debono’s mother has been a major negative influence in his life is not a personal attack, but a statement of fact made clear by the manner in which he is psychologically fixed at Form II. To say that it is not normal for a man of almost 40 to date the same woman for several years and drop her off at her own home every night while returning to sleep with his parents in his childhood home is also not a personal attack. It is an opinion based on fact, about a very public figure, and directly relevant in discussions about his character. Nobody, me included, has discussed his girlfriend or even his mother in a personal capacity or in their own right. We do not even know what his girlfriend is called or what she looks like: two facts which have never been made public. His mother, on the other hand, made herself public by appearing with her son on Xarabank to discuss his many fascinating qualities. We have NOT discussed these two women. We have only discussed the significance of their relationship with the man who is holding Malta hostage. Recognise the distinction, Fr Borg – after all, you do teach communications. I think your opinion here may have been formed by your own relationship with your mother, which you have written about several times in a way that I found almost disturbing. This is not a normal mother-adult son relationship, but one which could survive that way for decades only because, given that you are a priest, there was no other woman involved. In the normal course of events, given the advent of a life partner and perhaps children, the intensity of that relationship with your mother would have dissolved over time and normalised. In other words, Fr Borg, what you see as the ‘sacred mother’, other people see differently. Mothers are not sacred beings. They are women who have children either biologically or through adoption and bring them up, hopefully to be well-rounded people. The best mothers cut the umbilical cord themselves and ensure that their sons (there does not seem to be a similar problem with daughters) do not grow up to think they are sacred. One of the saddest spectacles in Mediterranean life is the sight of men edging into old age who still think and talk in terms of a sacred relationship with the woman who gave birth to them. This is spectacularly unhealthy.]
Just to be clear…I’m not agreeing with Fr Joe Borg. I only wished to bring it to your attention.
Big news! The FZL have relaunched their website!
… And they’ve listed Nakita as studying at the LSE.

Unless it is an election for the European Parliament, I do not normally recognise more than a couple of names in a ballot sheet.
That’s going to change for the coming election.
I need to have a good chat with every candidate while watching out for:
mummy pictures on desks
showing off secondary school reports
any attendance at St. Aloysius College in the late 80s, when there appears to have been a production-line problem
wild gesticulations
and hair spray.
Graziella Pisscopo,
L-attakki personali fuq Franco Debono jieqfu il-mument li Debono jieqaf jattakka lill Prim Ministru.
S’intendi, il-Laburisti ma tantx jemmnu f’attakki personali bhal, per ezempju jbiddlu t-titlu ta ‘Salvatur’ f’dak ta ‘Traditur’ u jcahhduh milli jzur il-‘headquarters’ taghhom ghal 14 sena!
U jekk joghgbok tirreferijx ghal ‘huti Nazzjonalisti’ ghaliex hutek ‘Nazzjonalisti’ jinsabu maghqudin u kontra il-vavati ta Franco Debono u kieku kellu johrog jikkontesta l-elezzjoni se jiddobba lezzjoni li lanqas l-iskola ta San Alwigi qatt ma taghtu.
Issa drajna sew dawl li jiffermaw ‘ex-NP’ ghax nafu li hafna Laburisti jridu jaghttu x-xemx bl-gharbiel.
Hazin jekk isallbuh miskin, ghax lanqas it-telefon ma jkun jista’ jirrispondi mbghad.
