Issa l-JPO baqa biss biex jinghaqad mal-progressivi u liberali. Just read this.
So you all know that Jeffrey’s ex wife, Marlene Farrugia, is a Labour MP, right?
Earlier today I reported that the woman Jeffrey is about to make his new wife, Carmen Camilleri Ciantar, is back with the Labour Party.
She was at Labour’s annual general conference this week, clapping and waving.
She has been visiting Joseph Muscat in his Mile End office.
And she might well be a candidate in the general election.
Now I’ve just been told that Godfrey Farrugia, the man for whom Marlene left Jeffrey and with whom she still lives (the surname is just a coincidence), is going to stand for election on the Labour ticket too.
So Joseph Muscat’s skip contains:
Jeffrey’s ex wife
Jeffrey’s soon-to-be wife
Jeffrey’s ex wife’s lover
Dalwaqt jaqbez fl-iskip Jeffrey ukoll.
Mur ara what fun it’s going to be on the Labour backbench. Car-keys fil-bowl tal-ispeaker jonqoshom. Qishom karattri minn xi ktieb ta’ John Updike.
Maaaa, x’pajjiz tan-n**k. Litteralment.

it’s ‘litteralment’ qalbi, double t.
[Daphne – Well, apparently it’s letteralment, from the Italian, not English.]
And what exactly are you trying to tell us? That you are jealous that there are people enjoying their own life instead of making others life’s misery?
[Daphne – Quite frankly, I can’t see how much fun that kind of mess can be. It looks pretty frightening from where I’m standing.]
Serge, when you have nothing to say, say nothing. So now shush for goodness’ sake, can’t you see you’re just a tedious distraction?
LOL we’re not the only ones using the Hitler film “Downfall” to make fun of our so called politicians.

Carry On Up The Backbench.
If I remember well, Godfrey was a prospective PN candidate in 1998 or 2003 but was stopped from contesting by the PN leadership when the personal problems came to light.
Jiena mhux hekk nafha.
As far as I know two PN stalwarts who used to get a lot of votes from Zebbug and Siggiewi (they were part of the same district at the time) opposed and made a huge fuss and he eventually did not contest.
At the time he was still with his ex wife I believe and they seemed like a happy family with two or three kids.
Needless to say Godfrey is your typical village GP and he will get thousands of votes.
Gavin is close to Muscat and gets lots of exposure. It’s Anthony Zammit who will suffer – no way will he be elected. I also don’t see Noel Farrugia being elected due to Sandro Craus being on the ticket too.
I also don’t know what they see in Charles Buhagiar – never trusted men with big moustaches.
Who happens to be a licensed pyrotechnician.
Evviva.
No surprises there: Godfrey has always been associated with Labour.
He was the independent mayor of Zebbug at the time when Labour did not officially field its own candidates for local councils but supported independents. That’s probably where he and Marlene met: she was a PN councillor at the time.
Hmmm, from what others have written, it seems like my first sentence may have been wrong. The rest, however, is correct.
It’s a small island.
It’s not only the island that’s small, Andreas.
U imbaghad jghidu li tal-PN ghandhom kilba ghal poter.
Come on, with all those ex-es you don’t suppose Jeffrey is going in with the PL.
Just like Franco is never going with the PL just because his old nemesis is there.
Some things are not easy to overlook, perhaps.
Hu l-hajja bin-nelh u n-nelh bis-serjeta!
In Facebookese: LOL.
Maybe you fail to realize that the PL has a hidden strategy. It’s attracting lots of doctors as candidates: Chris Fearne, Deo Debattista, Franco Mercieca, Godfrey Farrugia, Anthony Zammit (and I’ve heard Sylvio Grixti) will all be contesting the next election with PL.
I’m sure these docs are excellent in money making – that why Joey said he’s got the best finance team ever. They’ve become super rich in the last few years, thanks to the big faqar that’s pushing many Maltese families under the poverty line.
Kullhadd nesa isemmi lil Michael (Bassas) Farrugia ex- Health minister.
Letteralment is written that way, Daphne. Vera pajjiz tan-ne**k – just where the Gonzi government has got us.
Good one! That Bidnija witch is always trying to show how superior she is by trying to correct everyone. She can’t even write in her own language let alone English!
[Daphne – Have you run out of boys in Sunshine, Melbourne or wherever it is you’re living now, Chetcuti? Or are the boys running in the opposite direction now that you’re over the hill? Well, never mind, it’s a short flight to Thailand. God, what a bore you are. One would think you wouldn’t feel the need to sit on top of this blog when you’re on the other side of the world.]
It seems that JCC starts his day on DCG’s blog.
Don’t we all. A cup of lapsang souchong, a slice of toast with a smear of Gentleman’s Relish, and DCG’s blog. The breakfast of champions.
@ Baxxter
Not very working class, are you?
No, I am thoroughly working class, but I have seen the world. I have seen how the other side lives and I want some of it.
I try to rise above my station with the help of a little touch of refinement, as far as my meagre resources will allow. It doesn’t help that I live and work among the common people, but I seek refuge in Daphne’s sharp wit and brilliant repartee.
You, I take it, are a gentleman, since you correctly recognised the fine qualities of Patum Peperium.
[Daphne – Franks in Mosta and at the Plaza sell it, though it might not be in stock right now.]
Good one Joseph. You see the true character.
It’s ‘litteralment’
It is absolutely hilarious!
Seriously, Gofrey Farrugia, is taking up elections?….at least Muscat is choosing very well whom he want behind him…..btw Godfrey is one of the best doctors and sociable I ever visited,,,,guess he’ll prove Dr. Cassar valueless if given the Health Minister on other credentials Farrugia holds however….yet again if Labour is in govt.
Say what? Does anybody know what BC is on about?
Dear Daphne, this time it’s very well said, prosit.
Mhux johrog xi rumanz gdid Alfred Sant jista! Jew forsi xi soap opera fuq is-Super One?
As long as personal and public relations doesn’t interfere with each other I see nothing wrong about this.On the other side if they do then we could have an orgy in parliament.
[Daphne – Hardly. More like unbelievable tension.]
I have known Godfrey for ages now, and I am speechless – well honestly, not completely surprised.
PLEASE GODFREY, THINK TWICE. YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Do you have any idea which districts the husband/wife/ex-wife/ex-husband contest?
