The true heart and soul of the progressive, liberal Labour ‘movement’

Published: January 25, 2012 at 10:48pm

They’ve started a Facebook group to have me jailed. You know, because I said that their beloved ex leader should rot in hell (if there is a God).

And they’re all salivating about what they’re going to do to me when Labour is elected. Or rather, what they hope ‘Joseph’ will do to me (how I laughed – he’ll have to get a testosterone shot first).

Thirty-two years after their fathers and grandfathers set fire to the Allied Newspapers/Progress Press building with employees still inside, nothing changes.

The merest whiff of victory, and the peasants bring out their pitchforks.

And poor Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, grandson of Joseph Orlando Smith the Labour politician, who my father, then still a child, remembers as a regular visitor to his father, a dedicated supporter of Lord Strickland’s party, impeccably dressed like a character from a Graham Greene novel, has reduced himself to allowing this Facebook group to post updates on his Facebook wall, along with pictures of his spaghetti suppers.

Sic transit gloria mundi.

How true…….nothing has changed. But make no mistake if violence returns to this country, next time they will stay for 50 years in opposition.

  2. M. Bormann says:

Dom Mintoff is still alive in these bloody bastards.

  3. M. Bormann says:

Oh, damn, Dom Mintoff IS still alive – he looks so dead in those photos you posted of him, I thought he was actually dead for a second.

  4. Amanda says:

    Same old Labour.

  5. Manuel says:

Plonkers. They created a closed group so it cannot be reported by some one on the outside. They never change.

[Daphne – They must have closed it immediately they read about it here, because it wasn’t closed 15 minutes ago.]

    • Matt says:

You can report the group anyway. Even though the group is closed, the content is public. Go to the bottom of the page and there you will find a link called “Report Group”.

    • Me says:

It is NOT a closed group. It is open to all, so one can see the members – Robert Musumeci, Tony Coleiro, Charles Mangion, Michael Falzon, Justyne Caruana, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, Evarist Bartolo, Stefan Buontempo ..

      Progressive, eh?

Freedom of speech, my arse. These people will never change.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT CAN STILL BE REPORTED – Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you get to the “report” button toward the bottom (centre/left) of the screen.

      • Me says:

This is the link to the page in question –

        http://www.facebook.com/pawlu.richard?ref=ts#!/groups/314196775289230/

It can’t be found by searching by name (though one was able to earlier). It may now be accessed by going directly through the creator’s – Pawlu Richard’s – Facebook page. Another administrator is a Rita Garzia ( http://www.facebook.com/pawlu.richard?ref=ts#!/rita.garzia )

      • @me says:

ghalix tridu tnehhu il grupp ? Mela caruana galizia biss tista tigdeb u tghid li thoss ? Dak il grupp kull m ghamel jiprotesta kontra il gidieb ta din l annimal !

[Daphne – No, there is a crucial difference which Laburisti don’t seem to understand. Criticising and mocking politicians and former prime ministers is not the same thing as calling for the prosecution and imprisonment of a journalist on the grave charge of exercising the right to mock and criticise those very people. I see your mentality hasn’t changed much from the days you burned down a newspaper printing-press building, having not bothered, when you set fire to it, to find out whether the employees were still inside. They were, including my brother-in-law’s father, who was taken hostage by the mob and forced to show them where ‘the magni’ were. He took them to a room containing a defunct press, knowing they wouldn’t recognise the difference. But the fire they set was so horrendous – they used printing fluid and petrol and poured it all over the place – that the whole building went up in flames anyway. And your explanation for this would be…what, exactly?]

    • Not Sandy :P says:

Closed groups can be reported too. What you can’t do is report the content because to do that you need to have access.

  6. ciccio says:

Shall we ask Joseph Muscat to condemn that hate group? And all the “No for Gonzi” and the “Laburisti Ukburin” other hate groups? Perhaps he will issue a press release tomorrow? Or maybe he will delegate it to Gadget, as he did with the parliamentary motion?

I think it is the behaviour of politicians who attack the blogs, like Gadget, which is DANGEROUS.

Politicians do not have the right to stop the freedom of expression or the media beyond what the law permits, and this would have to be tested in the courts (a word which has no meaning to the beetles), which is the other pillar of democracy.

And the politicians who resort to weeping and crocodile tears are ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS.

They show that they cannot live with freedom of expression, and that they are seeking other means.

Their behaviour is likely to be directed to the force of the masses, where it is not unlikely to find a few crazy individuals.

The leaders of the parties should not raise any alarms about “personal attacks,” which is only the public scrutiny of politicians, but should stop their party officials, MPs and candidates from instigating the public against the free media.

It is such instigation that is not tolerated in free countries.

Look at the people who joined the group!! ARON FARRUGIA, MICHAEL FALZON, EVARIST BARTOLO, CHARLES BUHAGIAR, STEFAN BUONTEMPO, ** JASON MICALLEF** , CHARLES MANGION, JOE GRIMA ROBERT MUSUMECI, BRIAN HANSFORD and others…. FREEDOM OF SPEECH ANYONE??!! DEMOCRACY??

    VOTE LABOUR GET LABOUR

  8. Me says:

They just don’t get it, do they? They are the very essence of Labour, and one of the main reasons why I will always vote them out:

    “Pawlu Richard shared a link.

New Labour is going to be worse than old Labour: dangerous with so many years of pent-up hatred, ready to explode.

    • Angus Black says:

Mela se tkun impenjata sew il-puluzija ghax il-‘hnezrijiet’ li qed jiktbu l-laburisti huma ta misthija. Il-vokabularju li juzaw juri kemm huma baxxi, imdejqin, iddisprati u ta klassi ghalihom.

Il-veru tal-misthija u tal-biza. Jekk Allahares jitilghu (xi darba) fil-gvern, il-vendikazzjonijiet u l-vjolenza tkun aktar harxa minn ta zmien Mintoff u KMB. 9. jeneba says:

After all the shit that you wrote I dont know why you’re so surprized for that group…let’s face it, you asked for it my dear.

[Daphne – That’s true. Every little makes more, and at this rate, I’ll be knocking Maltastar off the charts.]

New Labour spreading the gospel of liberal progressive modern tolerance according to Joseph Muscat, and this while still in Opposition.

Imagine them running our lives from Castille in a few weeks’ time.

[Daphne – So dull-witted. They post a link championing Salman Rushdie on a petition group calling to have me silenced in the name of justice. I find their stupidity more disturbing than their violence.]

  11. ANTHONY ATAR says:

  12. etil says:

This is the ‘legacy’ that their beloved Salvatur is leaving them.

Goodness what a lot he has to answer for and yet they still see him as their Saviour.

What worries me is that these are the younger generation who have been completely brainwashed by their parents / grandmothers/grandfathers even though they are now enjoying a better standard of living and have so many opportunities, no thanks to their Salvatur.

They fail to accept criticism and now they are resorting to internet ‘violence’.

Is that all they are good for – are they not capable of replying to comments without resorting to vulgar and coarse language but then I suppose this makes them feel more at home.

  13. JJ says:

You’re a star DCG! Possibly the only honest voice of reason in these God forsaken islands!

  14. WhoamI? says:

Unless that old man (he whose name we cannot say) has returned to il buon Gesu, then the only place he can be buried in is il-mizbla, which ironically sounds just about right.

  15. Orlando Ellul Micallef says:

NO problem, Reported this group to be removed. If everyone will report this group, it will be removed asap.

    • Ian Bugeja says:

Orlando why do you think that a group like this is a problem for Daphne?

People who are extremists are not viewed very lightly by the general public and thus would do more harm to their own cause than good!

  16. Jacky says:

Can’t you take as much as you can give? You have a problem.
Ian Bugeja said that people who are extremists are not viewed very lightly by the general public and do more harm than good to their own cause.
I had been trying to convince three of my friends to vote PL for the past few weeks, they were going to vote AD. Until they saw the picture and the comments you wrote about Mintoff, In that picture they saw their grandfather who died a few months back, and thanks to you they decided to vote PL. I have a screen pic of that page, so that when election comes, I will post it to anyone I know whose grandfather/grandmother/parents suffered a stroke, to show them how respectful PN are. Once again Thank you very much Daphne Keep up the good work.

[Daphne – Who is Ian Bugeja? What shallow, silly little friends you have, Jacky, if that is how they choose a government for five years, because a non-politician who blogs puts up a picture of a horrible old louse. They deserve a Labour government, and it’s too bad that the rest of us will have to deal with the choices of such candyfloss-brained individuals.

Yes, I think you should go right ahead and email that screen shot out at election time, to as many people as possible. Remember that for every one of your friends who sees in him their grandfather who died, plenty more will see their father or grandfather who was killed. By his actions.]
