Truth be said I find it hard to pick on him. Whilst he is totally inept for anything to do with politics, I am told that he is quite a nice guy who does his best to help – albeit not in the most appropriate manner.
Why do you keep picking on this guy Daphne? I know he is a bit of a nerd, he seems like a pleasant chap to me or you know something I don’t?
[Daphne – He’s a future cabinet minister, Paul. And he’s not a nerd, He’s incredibly thick and totally ignorant. That’s what gets me. If he were going to be just another government backbencher, fine. But giving this man responsibility? I don’t think so.]
He does not seem to have the aura of a minister. He seems better suited to teach ‘duttrina’ (catechism) to children. He seems a bit slow and out of his depth. The LP needs people like Silvio; they are the ones who can communicate with certain sectors of Maltese society, which is where Labour’s votes are.
I watched his videos posted here and I felt embarrassed for him. In fact he sounds like a priest delivering a sermon in church, with half the congregation asleep. I would definitely fall asleep listening to him.
Can you imagine someone like him in Westminster? In fact I do, John Prescott – he could not string a sentence together. John Prescott reminds me of Malta’s Labour members.
Where is Hall-Tarxien? Is it close to Modena?
I think it is closer to the Serenissima since there is mention of gondoliers.
Joe, it’s Gondolier Hall in Tarxien.
For once it is not a spelling mistake. Perhaps Varist is giving them private lessons.

There are far more sleazy characters around him!
No. It’s more like close to Venice. It says “Il-Gondolier Hall, Tarxien.”
The “Silvio Parnis” brand is getting stronger: it has now eclipsed the “Partit Laburista” torch.
I have to be frank though: when it comes to bingo, I prefer the Labour brand.

He is also very self-seeking and an opportunist.

He meant ‘Tarxien Hall’, maybe?
Hall- Tarxien; must be the bingo hall in Tarxien.
