Franco Debono aka Miss Mary Mifsud
For some time now, a few others and I have noticed that often, when people address Franco Debono directly on timesofmalta.com’s comments-board, a certain Mary Mifsud rushes to reply as though she’s the one who’s been spoken to.
Here’s the latest such example.
He probably thinks it’s a really cunning disguise if he pretends to be an elderly lady (I know nobody under the age of 60 by that name) who’s absolutely fascinated by the minutiae of Franco Debono’s motivations.

franco , The Prime Minister and our Party Leader did not make you a Minister , and now the world has the proof that it was a good decision , because you proved your self not capable to be given that privilege , with the way you behaved towards the Parliament , towards the Prime Minister and Party Leader , and towards the People of Malta and Gozo . A person who show this kind of revenge because he was not given the privilege that he expected , is not capable to be given such a privilege . The sooner you are out of Parliament the better for Malta .

@ Tony Agius:
We can have no such proof because Franco was never made minister. However we can assess the performance of those who have been made ministers and even elevated, people such as Carm Mifsud Bonnici, cousin of Edgar Galea Curmi.
Rather then plotting hypothesis, shouldn’t we assess performances, Mr Tony Agius?

Wish this hermaphrodite would have the decency to reply to my various comments on timesofmalta.com’s comments-board. That would certainly make my day.
I think mary mifsud (no capitals) did reply to your comments. If not, then mark borg (no capitals either), or one of a plethora of other pen names would have done.
I have noticed that responses to comments about Franco are made mostly before court sittings begin (0900), after they end (1300), before opening of a legal office (1700) and during parliamentary sessions/closing of office.
I’m not accustomed to Blackberries but it seems it is difficult to include capital letters and punctuation marks with these gadgets which ring even when they’re switched off.
He must be very busy then; the negative comments in his regard on The Times have multiplied.
When he asks why Zurrieq registered the largest amount of no-shows in the recent elections, all he has to do is look in the mirror.
Franco has to declare whether he intends to prove his arguments by working to the ‘PN’s meltdown’ in the coming general election. Anything else is irrelevant.
Good point, John . Actually I never noticed this.
And I nearly forgot to say that mary mifsud writes comments only where ‘she’ can strengthen Franco’s public image.
You would undoubtedly find her commenting where Franco is mentioned and writes in his name as if she is Franco himself.
There’s also a stirrer with the name of lilly vella whoh hasn’t written for some time now.
Mary,
The performance of Debono has been assessed ad. nauseam.
Fortunately, this assessment was carried out early on in his political career when he was still a backbencher.
And thank God for that too.
It would have been even more fortunate had Franco been better assessed by the PN before accepting his candidature for election to parliament.
An old police trick: if someone uses alliteration when giving their Christian name and surname then there is a greater chance they are made up.
Defending Franco Debono, you wouldn’t want people to know your true identity.
This is an extremely interesting comment. Had never heard of that old police trick.
He would have created more excitement had he disguised himself as Delpiero Zammit. Or Jetaime Mifsud.
The likes of Delpiero or Jataime would not be old enough to comment about Franco on comments-boards.
I thought they were old enough. Didn’t they spend their weekends “jiccettjaw” and “jirrejsjaw l-Escort ta’ Delpiero”? You should ask HP Baxxter about that.
I’m sure they can use a keyboard. And if they have reached their Form 2c, I’d thing that that’s about all the education they need to comment about Franco.
One plots hypotheses, or a hypothesis.
Ajma.
Maybe it’s his aunt or his kunjata-in-waiting coming to his defence.
[Daphne – What, you mean they’re literate? In English?]
And in politics? And in criminal law?
It would be interesting to check Miss Mifsud’s articulation about political party financing. She might claim that she wrote her thesis about that subject.
It sounds like him
Interesting to see that Mary Mifsud uses the royal We.

@ John Schembri:
The PN glided into victory without Schiavone. He did not contest the last election but came back immediately after Louis and Helen were not elected and Ninu was not made minister.
I repeat: What will happen if all PN tesserati pretended they have a right to be party candidates at all costs?
Schiavone has unsuccessfully contested elections with PN since 1987. He skipped 1992 election, then he contested again, then he skipped, then he wanted to contest, and so on and so forth

@Franco Debono: if all members of the PN behaved like Doctor (Not Mister) Hermann Schiavone the PN would be gliding into victory.
Franco Debono is conspicuous by his absence in the fifth district because he knows fully well that he’s not welcome on our doorsteps , on the contrary Dr Schiavone and the other prospective candidates are more then welcome in our sitting rooms .
People of all political beliefs want candidates who care for their wellbeing throughout the whole legislatures; they don’t want candidates who threaten their leaders .They want loyal candidates to them , their party and their country.
We never voted for Franco to get a Debono Grech!
This surely gives him away:

criminal code art 355AC.
(1) When a person is arrested, the arrest is not lawful
unless the person arrested is informed that he is under arrest, even
though the arrest may be obvious.
(2) The arrest is not lawful unless the person arrested is
informed at the time of his arrest or detention in a language that he
understands, and if he is not informed of the reasons for his arrest or detention:
Neighter if an interpreter is necessary and is still not made available.
[Daphne – Kemm taf dwar il-Criminal Code u l-illegal arrest, God bless, Mary Mifsud. And I LOVE the ‘neighter’. Perhaps it’s a sort of horse. A dog is a barker and a horse is a neighter.]
Mary Mifsud must have had an excellent Form IIC Report.
…a Neighter is a horse ‘whisperer’ (just in case a horse AND his cabbie master need to be arrested)
Forsi qed taghmel LLD bhala mature student. Issa sar il-passatemp nazzjonali minflok il-ganutell.
If a dog is a barker and a horse is a neighter, what would a capon be I wonder?
Caponata?
Try asking the hussy himself.
Hasi not hussy.
Min jaf x’jidrilha mis-songbird ta’ Franco, din Mary Mifsud.
Ahjar jghidilnha meta ghamel l-ahhar home visit
Min jaghmel qoffa jaghmel qartalla!
Jekk mary mifsud hija Dr Franco , mela ma’ ttiehx tort lil Schiavone li issuspetta ma’ Galea Curmi li kien Franco l-originatur tal-ittra anonima li swietlu s-siggu parlamentari !
Dejjem “jekk”, sur avukat.
In his mind’s eye, he probably sees himself as the ultimate geek in “There’s Something About Mary” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xuah8LC-Cw ), hence his chosen name.
Having said that, the stilted English used by “Mary Mifsud” is practically the same as that used by the geek himself.
And the bad accent (“Rather thEn plotting hypothesis”) itself is a give-away too.
Maybe Franco Debono has hidden assets he is dying to let us all know about, hence his reference to being assesed on “performance”.
…and “songbirds” ….
Mary Mifsud = Dr Franco Debono’s alter ego.

See the comments board – Jonathan Camilleri could well be Dr. D too! What a wierd comment.
[Daphne – Not Franco but somebody like him. He didn’t work at Go and APS.]
Saw that comment and couldn’t help wonder what a lot of weirdos lurk out there…
And, pray, how would Mary Mifsud know that Carm Mifsud Bonnici’s cousin is Edgar Galea Curmi and use it against him, to boot?
[Daphne – And they’re not first cousins. I don’t even know most of my second cousins. Maybe in Hal Ghaxaq things are different, and they use the extended cousins network for patronage and string-pulling.]
However, the dead give-away is the “plotting hypothesis”. Who in his right mind would think that Mr. Agius’ contribution is tantamount to “plotting”. It takes one plotter to recognise another one.
@Lomax – Edgar Galea Curmi’s mother was KMB’s sister. That was common knowledge amongst St. Aloysius’ pupils in the 1980s So yes, “Mary Mifsud” would know of the connection between the Galea Curmis and the Mifsud Bonnicis, even if “she” got the “finer” detail wrong.

I wonder if the ‘prominent criminal lawyer’ has called the Times to protest about naming him here.
But you do this yourself Daphne! I have noticed many times that you make points and then answer them under a different name. It is the same as when you comment on articles in the press using one of your various aliases.
[Daphne – Why would I make points and then answer them under a different name, Franco? I don’t comment on articles in the press anywhere except in my column in The Malta Independent and my other column in The Malta Independent on Sunday – and here. I have no alias, let alone various ones.]
Unbelievably home visits by the PN ‘activists’ in Franco’s kingdom (the Fifth District) seem to be on hold or were stopped.
I know people go on holiday about now, but party candidates should be campaigning not holidaying when an election is due within a year.
I think Franco is ruling the roost.
Happy Easter to Daphne and all those who follow this site, Mr Attard and Ms Mifsud included.
The comment is also badly written. Than, not then. And hypotheses, not hypothesis.
