    Hi Daphne,

How can I send you a screen shot?

It is this kind of stupidity that has put me off siding with any one football team. The dedication to their team reminds of the religous fervour of bible thumpers.

In my younger days, I saw more of this stupidity from people who side with Italian teams particularly Juventus, Inter and Milan. That made me decidedly anti- Italian teams (rather than pro any English team).

  3. David II says:

To be fair, Luciano Busuttil wasn’t the only one euphoric about football on his Facebook last night. All men who are football fanatics seem to leave their IQ on the shelf when their team wins the cup.

    • Kenneth Cassar says:

I follow Italian football and support Juventus, but that kind of nonsense is unacceptable from anyone, let alone from politicians.

  4. Jozef says:

    Let’s put it this way,

Juventus were a couple of points ahead of Joseph’s Milan.

Milan lost 4-2 to Inter, Juve won and the gap cannot be closed, leaving Milan prattikament champions.

  9. Typical says:

As usual, another pointless article… wish there was some sort of system on fb with which i could block specific links which some of my friends post.

Just because someone sows passion for a team that they enjoy supporting, what is wrong with that and what does it have to do with IQ?

    • Kenneth Cassar says:

If you think what is reproduced in the screenshot does not reflect a low IQ, well, I would be worried if I were you.

I support Juventus, and yes, I was overjoyed last Sunday when Juve won the league, but not to the point of lunacy.

I cringe when I read similar posts from children and young teens. I despair when they come from adult politicians.

  10. Paul Bonnici says:

Did he actually write that himself on Facebook?

    The man is a d**khead.

It’s no surprise he supports a corrupt team.

What an immature p—k of a future PM. Does Dr Muscat for a moment think that a company is going to invest one billion “out of pocket”, as quoted in Maltatoday – ghal helu wiccna, and not expect to recoup that one billion?

    • maryanne says:

Oh, so there’s still hope for Sargas.

    • ciccio says:

“Opposition leader Joseph Muscat has yet again hinted at a carbon-recovery energy project proposed by Norwegian firm Sargas, as one of the “alternative possibilities” a Labour government would resort to in a bid to reduce utility rates.

In an interview to business magazine The Executive, Muscat said Sargas were willing to invest €1 billion “out of pocket” to re-engineer the Delimara power station for a carbon-capture system, which would enable us to reduce energy bills.

Muscat has previously floated this proposal as a solution to Malta’s dependence on oil in an interview to the Chamber of Commerce’s Commercial Courier.”

Hadn’t Marlene Pullicino, Labour’s Prattikament Minister for Energy, denied on Bondi+ that the Labour Party was proposing this as a solution?
Didn’t she say that she had read about this technology because she had: “Fittixt fuq l-internet u ma kienx hemm bzonn immur il-presentation meta nista’ naqra r-rapporti ta’ gurnalisti abbli”?

      http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2011/12/bondi-and-the-power-station/

      Maaa, x’tahwid fil-Labour.

    • ciccio says:

“Does Dr Muscat for a moment think that a company is going to invest one billion “out of pocket”, as quoted in Maltatoday – ghal helu wiccna, and not expect to recoup that one billion?”

According to what they’ve said, Joseph and his Labour Party would see this as a major opportunity to set up an SPV. They would obtain Euro 1 billion of loans and hide them in a Sargas Dallimara (or was it Smellimara?) SPV to buy a floating powerstation that looks like a floating hotel from Sargas. This way Sargas pockets Euro 1 billion and we will have a mega yacht with a bill of Euro 1 billion parked in Delimara.

      • Jozef says:

Oh not again. Where’s Yana on this?

This could be interesting; Maltatoday pushing its agenda onto Labour.

And the lies keep coming, Sargas is NOT capable of providing carbon capture and storage for plants using gas, their system works only with pressurised combustion coal plants.

Careful Joseph, you’re on very thin ice here.

  19. Joseph (Not Muscat) says:

Their problem is that they are as fanatical about politics as they are with football, where hot heads win over common sense.

    Bunch of amateurs.

  20. ciccio says:

The behaviour of a 14 year-old. Childish and irrational.

  23. Matthew says:

The Times’s standards have truly plummeted.

Did they really have to say that the missing man who was receiving treatment at Mount Carmel Hospital was found sleeping in a field?

All we needed to know was that he has been found and he is well.
