    Bluer and scarier.

  2. Rayb says:

    Wolves in sheeps’ clothing.

  3. Not Tonight says:

Will they change their ‘Red Touch’ phone to ‘Blue Touch’ do you think?

  4. Min Weber says:

    Talking of Smurfs.

What does Luciano Puffo Busuttil mean by this, in his official Kamra tad-Deputati biography?

“Dr. Luciano Busuttil is a young Labour Party MP. Born on the 31st July 1974 in Ħamrun.”

    http://www.parlament.mt/busuttil-luciano

Why YOUNG? Is it a qualification, or what?

    • Angus Black says:

Every town is entitled to have a bad day. Hamrun’s happened to be 31st July 1974.

    • Not Tonight says:

They need the young to balance out all the old codgers they’ve let in again. The term young is being stretched to mean anything from late teens to well past forty these days.

They want to give the impression that they are a dynamic party (or is it movement now?) bubbling with new ideas and chomping at their bits to start working on making Malta the best in Europe. And yet they haven’t come up with a single proposal except that they are going to be ‘safe’. Safe indeed.

    • C Falzon says:

It probably refers to his mental age.

  5. fanny says:

They have obviously never heard of the ‘Blue-rinse Brigade’ have they? Tory Blue anyone? What a bunch of pathetic eedjits.
Any hope that Sant will do to this lot what Mintoff did to hope? Just hoping..

  6. fanny says:

    Erratum…what Mintoff did to Sant?

  7. Min Weber says:

    Then there is Puffo Propaganda:

“His political career started in 1975 when he was appointed as Propaganda Secretary.”

    http://www.parlament.mt/mizzi-joe

Just that. Propaganda Secretary of what? Of whom? Where? Why?

We shall never get to know. Let’s resign ourselves.

  8. Min Weber says:

    And Puffo Canadese:

“Hon. Joseph Sammut was born in Canada and currently resides in Zurrieq.

He started studying at the primary and secondary schools in Zurrieq and at the St Albert College Valletta. He furthered his studies in the French language and in 1993 he graduated with a Doctorate in Laws from the University of Malta.”

    http://www.parlament.mt/sammut-joseph

I cannot follow the logical thread here. OK, he was born in Canada and now resides in Zurrieq … So?

Then he STARTED STUDYING at those schools! What does that mean?

He then furthered his studies in the French language and graduated Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta! Did he submit a thesis written in French? What on earth is he saying here?

  9. The Blurred Prince says:

Why is everyone surprised about Labour’s blue colour?

The “aristocracy of the workers” has always had blue blood.

  10. P Shaw says:

They also have la puffina Gozitana – an invention of Gargamel himself.

This is an extract of the actual biography of puffina – “The Hanna-Barbera cartoon series of the Smurfs, introduced in 1981, had her as an actual Gargamel spy and saboteur who intentionally tries to disrupt life in the village. She was magically created from blue clay, sugar and spice but nothing nice, crocodile tears, half a pack of lies, a chatter of a magpie, and the hardest stone for her heart. She is found in the forest by Hefty Smurf (The Smurfs, season 1 volume 1, “The Smurfette”).”

  11. Bellicoso says:

    Sadly, this stuff works.

I remember in the late 80s being secretly irate with my party for going from the black maduma theme to the baby blue coloured imagery of xoghol, gustizia, liberta.

Of course back then I was a lot less compromising. (No teen should be really, there’s middle age for that.)

As we all know with that shift the Nationalist Party took the centre, and eventually victory.

Labour have been trying to do the same thing since Alfred Sant. Imagery-wise they have now crossed over (Silvio Parnis’s hair do nothwithstanding).

Ideologically they are all over the place with expediency almost being the ideology itself.

  12. elephant says:

Will the Nationalists now vote for Joseph’s party just because they have gone blue? – I wonder

  13. canon says:

The next step for Dr Joseph Muscat is to dye his hair blue.

  14. elephant says:

I think Muscat is an intelligent man – but he is being led by the nose by the “Golden Years” boys.

    • La Redoute says:

Muscat is either intelligent or led by the nose. He can’t be both, because intelligent people are not led by the nose.

Either way, he is politically incompetent.

  15. Grezz says:

Is that Kevin Ellul Bonici’s wife on the far right?
