Silvio Parnis is so important that in his campaign photographs his leader stands two paces behind him, like the Duke of Edinburgh with the Queen.

Miskin, mhux bhal Franco Mercieca, ara dak ghandu ritratti mal-leader.

Protocol requirements – the leader should always be in front, the rest follow him or her. Like the Duke of Edinburgh with the Queen – he stands two paces behind her.

Like the King of Jordan – his wife always stands two paces behind him.

Yes – my wife also walks a few paces behind me as well.

So I’ll be the one who steps on the land-mine first.

      • silvio says:

John, I don’t think it’s very wise, because one day you might be blown up.

Can’t you come to some agreement with the mother- in-law, and give her the honour?

Of course only if you are living in Baghdad.

Thankfully we don’t have any mines here, but you must be very careful of the holes and whatever.

Perhaps one day someone will carry out a survey to see whether we have more accidents here, because of the state of the streets ,and in Iraq because of mines.

    • silvio says:

It’s only in Iraq that women walk three paces in front of their men.

It’s not as a sign of respect. It’s because of the large amount of hidden mines in the streets.

Mattie you missed the point: Silvio Parnis will be prime minister if Labour is elected.

Another one embarrassed about his own party so feels the need to wear blue.

  4. Patrik says:

It really looks like someone has taken a photo of a cardboard cut-out of his photo. Something about the perspective.

They’re not really designers over in Camp Silvio by the looks of it.

  5. ciccio says:

I know we’ve said this already some time ago, but Joseph leads from behind.

As for the photo, that is a photo montage. You can see that Joseph Muscat was reading off a teleprompter.

  6. TROY says:

Maybe they are a Duke and Queen.

  7. A. Charles says:

There is no “torca” emblem and no mention of the MLP on the picture. Why?

  8. Neil Dent says:

What dreadful Photoshop skills – to me it actually looks like Joey is closer to the camera than the Southern Fried minister, even though the former is supposed to be standing behind the latter.

  9. Riff Raff says:

    Sawt minister in waiting.

  10. Qeghdin Sew says:

It’s bad enough that the perspective is all wrong. I mean, Parnis looks like he’s walking and Muscat qed fuq l-ambone jagħmel il-priedka. At the very least, they could have cloned out the microphone from his face…

  11. Grezz says:

Well, apart from their gene pool, Muscat and the Duke of Edinburgh most certainly differ when it comes to being entertaining with quips. Talking of which, I would love to have heard a quip from Prince Philip had he been in Prince Juan Carlos’ place when Muscat turned up several minutes late for their scheduled meeting because he purportedly got held up in traffic. (“Earlier in the morning he had formal meetings with Dr Abela, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Opposition leader Joseph Muscat, who arrived late for the meeting because of traffic.” – http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20091126/local/one.283416 )

  12. GD says:

Whilst lesser mortals have their photo taken with the party leader, in Silvio’s case, it is the [party leader that has the honour of having his picture taken with him.
