I have not made this up, and here’s a screen shot as proof
WEDDING BELLS
Clevion Micallef and Roberta Testa were recently married at Fatima Sanctuary, Gwardamanġa, by Fr Michael Camilleri. Anthony Chircop was best man and Gail Kinmont was maid of honour. Witnesses were Jamie Testa and Pressede Micallef. Yanzelye Micallef was bridesmaid, Ziona Micallef was flower girl and Lyon Testa and Shenzil Micallef were page boys. Singing in church was provided by the groom’s sister Shieradye. The reception was held at Villa Oriana in Tal-Virtù. The happy couple had their honeymoon in Spain.

Celvion – that’s one for the Super One newsroom.
The bride is lovely, but couldn’t the groom have removed his two earrings just this once?

This can’t be real, Daphne. I am morally convinced you’ve doctored it.
It’s funny, sometimes they have perfectly acceptable names, and then massacre them in the pronunciation. Like DOORRRTEA.
She hasn’t. I’ve just read it on timesofmalta.com, and was somewhat surprised that the (in)famous Jetaime isn’t a relative
Or Lorrrrdesssss
It’s real. Believe it.
They should have spent their honeymoon either in Tegucigalpa or in Antananarivo.
After all those bizarre and exotic proper nouns, Spain was a right anticlimax.
What a pity.
His list of Micallef Facebook “friends” includes:
Decklyn
Mareah
Briegel
Waylon
Chantelle
http://www.facebook.com/clevion.micallef
Come on, Chantelle is a normal name. Waylon, well… we’re pushing it there.
As for the rest… no comment.
Ok – agreed (kind of!).
you forgot “Delcine”
Only because I thought she was part of the bridal retinue …
I never look at these articles normally but as it was the only one on the page I had a quick glance and was also amazed at the names.
Although on second thoughts these persons would have been mid 20s say at a guess, 1980s latest early 90s when I thought that giving your children idiotic names was not yet in vogue.
I had the same opinion about the earnings, Daphne. In fact he is (or looks) too old to wear them.
Names of aspiring nouveaux-riches. How tacky!
Apparently his unique name was copied by a neighbour when he was 6 years old.
0413281M Micallef Clevion 4, Sqaq Ghar il-Gobon Nru. 1, Birkirkara
0017087M Sciberras Clevion 45, Triq Ghar il-Gobon, Birkirkara
As for Ghar il-Gobon . . .
Matching first names and street names at least, in the same league! So you can’t blame them for choosing that name.
I ask you to remove such personal information.
What happened to DelPiero? Had he retired already?
It won’t be long before we have children being called Chardonnay and Clitoris.
If the Super One hacks exhaust all the -on list (Charlon, Byon, Derston), it will not be long before we have a Hardon.
Oh god, too funny! If you hadn’t included the link, I would have thought that you were having us on.
Does the name Shieradye read ‘charade’? Basta nkunu originali. Have you ever seen the list of names given to children born in Bormla?
With one of these earrings I thee wed.
I declare you husband and wife. You may now exchange earrings.
Was GASTON Debono Grech invited for the wedding?
Congrats to the happy couple, and I hope they choose names sensibly for any children they might have.
I swear I read it out to my husband yesterday afternoon – the list of non-names is impressive. And I hate earrings on males with a passion. What a turn-off.
They were in vogue in the mid-90s among men. I guess this guy is living in some personal fantasy where the 90s are still on and he is still a teenager.
Young, good looking and happy.
Three strikes against them.
[Daphne – Martin, I trust you don’t realise that you come across as anything but.]
It would be interesting to have a statistical study correlating these names to the IQ of those involved.
An acquaintance named her baby son ION, and I stupidly asked her where she got the name.
She was driving and saw the registration plate of the car in front of her and it read ION followed by the number.

Out of curiousity I Googled Shieradye – this must be the groom’s sister.
We are glad that we were of interest to you all, considering you had nothing better to do, and submit all these intelligent comments. For the rest it is none of your business.
so glad my son’s name is getting famous xxxxxxx
Will the madness ever end? On Sunday there was a family near us at Armier and two of their kids were MARIAH and SHANIA. The boys were Travis (cool name) and DENZEL. We’ve evolved to African-American names.
