The democrat who voted for Labour in the 1970s and 1980s and against EU membership has opened her loud mouth again on Facebook
Marlene Cacciattolo Mizzi has posted some more vacuous remarks about how frighening and undemocratic Malta has become. She wrote them on the Facebook wall of the Labour Party’s Brontosaurus Rex: Il-Guy, a survivor from the Mintoff era of 1971, who was a minister in the democratic cabinets of Prime Minister Mintoff and Prime Minister KMB.
The born-again liberal democrat from the Early Learning Centre, who voted for Prime Minister Mintoff and Prime Minister KMB to carry on with their excellent conduct of the affairs of state, thinks that matters have come to a sorry pass under the Nationalists, presumably because she is no longer chairman of Sea Malta.
“This country is becoming scarier and scarier,” she says that expert on freedom and democracy, the Tunny Net smuggler Il-Guy. Damn right it is, Marlene, with your load of oppressive nuts about to take over.
U mur saqqi l-hass tar-Rabat, ja ipokrita cheap u self-deluded li int. Jew ibla ftit kalmanti u mur mtedd sa kemm tigi f’sensik.
The brass neck of these people is just enraging. First they wreak all that havoc and destruction with their stupid political choices, then they come out shouting that they’re the good guys.
This Facebook clip was sent to me by somebody who wrote, in the email subject-line, “Is Marlene Mizzi quite all right up there?” The answer appears to be a resounding “No”.

SHAMEFUL! SHAMEFUL! SHAMEFUL ! EDWIN VASSALLO YOU ARE A SHAME TO DEMOCRACY AND TO MY COUNTRY. Quote” Minister C M B should continue with his duties, even if the majority of the MPs demand his resignation”” (The Independent 21 05 12 page 6) Apart from the matter in question, what this shameful man is saying is :to hell with democracy, to hell with what the majority wants, to hell with what the people’s representatives want in other civilised european democracy :we do what we like. Vassalllo has, unintentionally, revealed the true colours of what we suspect PN in Govt stands for: dictatorship . In other civilised european democracy ,for this statement only , this man would have been shown the door. Vassallo and frineds have already shown that they do not give a damn about what the majority of the electorate wants – in the divorce issue. And remember Austin Gatt’s statement that it useless taking matters to the HoR because they(the PN) have the majority anyway !!! The next statement we await from some wise guy in the PN is that they will govern even if the majority does not want them…which is what they are doing now after all! For whom democracy is sacred, this country is becoming scarier and scarier.

“For whom democracy is sacred, this country is becoming scarier and scarier.”
Good, she’s not talking about herself or anyone Labour, then.
I counted 6 exclamation marks, but expected more..usually around 20 from an idiot like this.
Like il-Guy even gives a monkey’s what Marlene thinks.
It’s Cacciottolo, not Cacciattolo. If you intend on using her maiden surname at least get it right.
[Daphne – Does it matter? It’s the same surname. The spelling clearly depended on the pronunciation.]
The worst is the last sentence – that the PN will govern even if they do not enjoy a majority. A bit rich coming from a candidate with a party doing just that in 1981.
Marlene should speak to her darling Mintoff to learn about governing without the majority of votes, and while at it she should ask the meaning of “JIEN NITNEJJEK MILL KOSTITUZZJONI”.
She could try running a “find on this page” search with the word “nitnejjek” here http://www.scribd.com/doc/94343123/How-Mintoff-Killed-the-NBM to get an idea.
I love it when they rant about democracy to distract us from the process itself.
We get to choose, Marlene, so just leave it to us, will you?
According to this paragon of the democratic game the PN is governing against the will of the majority.
I wonder then what her MLP was doing between 1981 and 1987.
I am in polite mode on Sunday mornings, therefore: “l-ispizjar milli jkollu jtik”.
Was this woman a chairperson? Of what, for heaven’s sake? Oh I forget – hers a political appointment by Prime Minister Sant, and then she was kept on by the incoming Nationalist government with its policy of retaining all previous chairpersons.
Rather rich of her, having a go at the PN – which holds a majority of votes. Its a rather tired cliche – but people in glass houses should not be throwing any stones. In 1981, the Labour Party did not have the majority of votes and still it clung to power for five and a half years.
Marlene should tell us whether she thinks democracy was sacred then.
Joseph’s party is looking and sounding very much like the old Labour. This is so sad, disappointing and a great pity.
Given the significant progress that the PN has made to Malta since 1987, a change of government, although good for democratic credentials, would still in my view be total madness.
Not with that bunch offering themselves up as an alternative.
If Malta needs another five years of PN to ensure that Labour really clean up their act – not just a superficial wipe – than so be it.
Maybe in six years time they may be ready. Maybe.
” The next statement we await from some wise guy in the PN is that they will govern even if the majority does not want them.” (Marlene Mizzi)
@ Marlene Mizzi,
You must remember vividly that Malta has already experienced that “shame to democracy” when it was practiced with gusto – but not by the Nationalist Party.
It was done by Mintoff and his gang of MLP pseudo-democrats who, after raping the democratic principle of government by the majority, proceeded, for five solid years, to put into practice the tyranny of “to hell with democracy, to hell with what the majority wants….:we do what we like” (your words, not mine.)
There is no need to speculate idly on what the NP might possibly do following the example set and recorded in the MLP history.
Please do not put your words in the mouth of the PN.
Marlene Cacciattolo thinks she is God’s gift to humanity. She has no idea how ridiculous she is.
Exactly. What may have worked over 30 years ago (a woman with long dyed blonde hair acting the way she does) looks utterly ridiculous so many years down the line.
Marlene, the only time I get scared is when I think of the possibility that the MINTOFFIAN Labour party will be running the show in a few months’ time.
And she has, yet again, opened her loud mouth on Dr. Andrew Borg Cardona, of all people – of course, in none other eminent forum than her Facebook Wall:-
“I have just been informed that Bocca aka IMBeck aka Andrew Borg Cardona – whose blogs I do not bother to waste time on- has taken a shot at me and what I wrote about the dictatorship currently being enjoyed by the people of this land. Miskin, he did not like it! He sounds like a hysterical woman whose washing has not yet dried and its starting to rain – absolutely hysterical ! Get the poor chap some smelling salts. This bright legal eagle, (sic!) is also asking whether I know the meaning of the word ‘ literally’ , when I used it to say that in Malta with the right patron ‘’ one can literally get away with murder’’ . Of course, since I am a lejburista and so by definition, arjuranta and knows not the inglixx very well, Dr Borg Cardona is critisising my use of English idioms, missing out a very important detail which I will slap back in his face. Dr Borg Cardona, what you should have corrected , and what I should have said is that ” in Malta with the right patron one can get away with ATTEMPTED murder”. Better? Makes more sense, no? Surely more comments are frivolous and vexatious ! Perhaps now you can get more hysterical , offensive and vulgar ,as is your style and call me that word which” starts with L and ends with R” . Stick to telling, whoever bothers to read you, where you are stuffing your face next and…calm down, dear!”
What savoir-faire, what je-ne-sais-quoi, what class. She is insufferable.
Ara min qed jitkellem. Dawn jafu li Joseph Muscat lanqas vot wiehed ma gab, lanqas tieghu stess. Leader bla vot, zero u kellhom iehor bhalu.
