Charlon should have Googled ‘Streisand effect’
I should remind you that this is the case in which Jason Micallef, who was secretary-general of the Labour Party for years, lied grossly under oath by claiming that he was in the street when I said what I did to the Super One camera, and that he heard me. A parade of witnesses said that he wasn’t there at all.
He also lied most terribly under oath when he said that he had no idea that I’m a newspaper columnist and write a blog; he thought I wrote cookery books. That went down really well with all present, including the bench.
Imagine stooping to that level, treating the solemn oath as though it is just another means to an end, when you’re in such an exalted position in a political party that stands to be in government. Oh, and not being too embarrassed to claim that, despite being secretary-general of the Opposition party for years, you don’t know who Daphne Caruana Galizia is or what she writes.
This despite the fact that you’re now chairman of a television station which doesn’t miss an opportunity to run news stories about a cookery writer, presumably because the Super One audience is crazy about eating.
I suppose we are now free to run this video as often as we like. It’s got more than 91,000 views already. Next time, Charlon, Google ‘Streisand Effect’ and don’t take advice from people like your friend Consuelo Herrera, who isn’t very bright, or your lawyers, former policemen and current Labour activists Andy Ellul (hu Sharon) and Vince Micallef, who didn’t even bother to turn up in court this morning, and who didn’t chase reporters to have their names included in this particular law report (obviously).

Rather stupid of Gouder, wasn’t it? I notice that none of the reports on the case denied the content of that famous video.
The man is beyond ridiculous. No wonder he’s employed by Jason Micallef.
Someone lied under oath?
I expect a charge of perjury.
AS IF.
PS if ONE news broadcast the clip then they should have been sued also.
U kif jidher fil- video il-pastizz jmur joqhob bil-karozza bir-registrazzjoni personalizata bl-ittri GOU biex inqas jghati fil-ghajn.
Malta Today did not report this judgement.
Why, don’t tell me that Saviour Balzan was not happy to see another triumph of freedom of speech over Labour’s oppression?
