Hey Franco – is he going to pay you in gel nails? God, how ridiculous.
Franco Debono has had a very important case today, so let’s all show our respect.
He even managed to get his name in the law report without too much chasing (and without, obviously, realising that he would have been better off with the name left out on this one).
His client held up a nail technician in the street. No wonder he looked worn out on Xarabank, and even more neurotic than usual.

MAN IS REMANDED OVER NAIL TECHNICIAN HOLD-UP
A man has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to committing a hold-up on a nail technician in the street last week.
Amadeo Grima, 32, of Kalkara, denied committing the hold-up in Birkirkara on May 30, in which the victim was robbed of €900. He also denied relapsing and breaching bail conditions.
Police Inspector Tony Cachia objected to the man’s request for bail, saying he was not trustworthy.
He said the man, along with an accomplice, waited for the victim, Ritienne Briguglio, to close her shop, followed her and then struck in Mannarino Road at 8.30 p.m.
Defence counsel Franco Debono argued that the arraignment procedure was flawed because the prosecution should have brought the alleged victim to testify, rather than object to the granting of bail because the victim still had to give evidence.
Magistrate Edwina Grima said the court was not convinced ofthe man’s trustworthiness and remanded him in custody.
Lawyer Mario Camilleri also appeared for the man.

Does our Franco realise that, as a politician, he is a burnt-out has-been and as a lawyer he has become known at cavilling with technicalities and pseudo-loopholes instead of arguing his case like any criminal lawyer worth his salt would do.
At least Il -Baggio can now let off some steam watching the Euro 2012 footie, not that he will not find any bones to pick with the players, coach, referee, Michel Platini, ball-boys, inkella ma jkunx hu.
“Lawyer Mario Camilleri also appeared for the man.” Imma probabbilment Franco lanqas tah cans jghid kelma.
In fact, notice how timesofmalta.com just said “appeared.”
Pity Franco Debono doesn’t disappear from the political scene and from our television screens.
Franco is who he is and acts how he acts because he spends his life defending criminals.
And he wants his ideas to become laws to help him in his job and so he can earn more money. Quite a conflict of interest in my opinion.
