It’s Tweety-Bird

The Leader of the Opposition and future prime minister tweeted a statesmanlike message earlier tonight:
Booing small crowd shouting GonziPN and unrepeatable stuff greets Labour MPs outside parliament. Who are the hamalli now?
Then he tweeted another one which somebody else wrote for him (he would never use the word monarchical or refer to the British sovereign as Her Majesty, or even know or care about the Jubilee concert, but Yana Mintoff would):
Malta’s prime minister has monarchical aspirations. Maybe Her Majesty can forward some suggestions while enjoying the Jubilee concert.

I’d better go buy a bag of “scalora”. It looks like Tweety-Bird will be with us for some time.
You’d better buy a cage, also. That’s the only way this Tweety Bird will be safe for busines.
By saying “Who are the hamalli now?”, it would suggest that Muscat accepts that at some point they (Labour) were the hamalli.
Is this the liberal all-inclusive Labour movement? This tweet seems like a rant from a 15 year old football supporter and not the words of an aspiring (great?) leader of our nation.
Dr Muscat should note that stuff generally refers to inanimate objects, things or matter not words.
Into the era of the twit.
Muscat sounds like he’s trying to fulfil a vendetta. Not a good sign.
What does he mean by it, anyway? Is he one of those who thinks that they were pigeon-holed in life and is trying to break free from it by seeking revenge?
He thinks of himself as privileggat and trying to curry favour among the proles, though he thinks he’s a cut above them.
Joseph Muscat is seriously damaging his party. He is starting fights that don’t have to be fought.
Dr.Muscat could have played his constitutional role and criticized the government when criticism was due and let the people decide if Dr. Gonzi is doing a good job.
This fiasco fomented by Joseph Muscat has boomeranged on him as he came out really looking mad and bad. He even made the party look stupid.
It is time for the MLP to look for an alternative serious leader.
The real question is: When has the Labour Party ever been credible and looked serious?
When it wanted to sell Malta to Britain?
When it started the Church-State fight?
When Mintoff failed to negotiate a deal with Britain?
When the British left and Mintoff called it ‘Jum il-Helsien’?
When Mintoff became friends with Caucescu, Kim il Sung, Mao, Gaddafi?
When Labour’s government locked out the doctors?
When Mintoff called his own, a bunch of ‘eunuchs’?
When KMB led thugs on their way to ransack the Curia?
When KMB sent school schools underground?
When Labour thugs burned down The Times?
When Sant froze Malta’s application to join the EU?
When Sant suggested a 15% devaluation of the lira?
When Sant proposed a nonexistent ‘Partnership’?
When Sant suspended Malta’s participation in PfP ?
When he and Joseph embarked on a vile anti-EU campaign?
When Sant denied the ‘Yes’ had won the EU Referendum?
When Joseph and Sant fought against the intro of the euro?
When Labour elected Joseph instead of George Abela?
The list is much, much longer but the above should jog a few memories.
It’s not what they want. They can’t have a leader who expects to take decisions.
A tweet from a twat…
Tweet for tat politics.
Politics has gone t(w)its.
Sorry but cannot figure out the logic in this…If the crowds supporting the LP are shouting ‘unrepeatable stuff’ towards the Nationalist Party, would that not classify the Labour Party as still being the hamalli?
Joseph Muscat illu jghid li Lawrence Gonzi ghamel telliqa wahdu. Il-bierah Joseph Muscat u Lawrence Gonzi tellqu flimkien u Lawrence Gonzi ghaddieh.
The second tweet is actually pretty good.
Yep, he’s the man – a real statesman – appealing to the worst in people and making a right superficial fool of himself. I cannot imagine this guy dealing with real issues.
Bright side, Joseph – it was only mild verbal abuse they hurled at you, not tear gas or rubber bullets.
Did he get home to find his wife beaten, his kids terrified and his house ablaze by any chance?
Kemm hu baxx. How low can one go.
This title comes to mind when I read such things (replacing Kinnock with Muscat and Britian with Malta)

Neil Kinnock and his wife joined the EU gravy train despite being socialists.

Scroll down to the bottom.
Mintoff called them bla bocci. Joseph calls them hamalli.
You don’t make such statements if you’re fit to lead a country successfully. Knowing the current partisan atmosphere I find Muscat’s tweet very irresponsible.
In his defence, it might have been a technical error on his teleprompter.
Ghadu jridha ta’ teenager miskin. Definitely he’s got JPO-symptoms and running a Debonianta temperature
David Cameron’s wisest utterance was “too many tweets make a twat”
Looks like we’ve surpassed that threshold some time ago.
Jason Micallef and Alfred Zammit on Super One radio were praising yesterday’s bash near Buckingham Palace.
Jason Micallef says that the platform reminded him of the great shows Labour used to put on on the Tritons fountain outside Valletta.
The damage done to that fountain doesn’t matter to him, even if he knows about it.
Not related to this post, but in The Times online, beneath an article entitled ‘CMB says political opponents avoided eye contact as he returned to court’, Luciano Busuttil replied: ‘Not true. I greeted him and talked normally.’ Qas jisthi wkoll…l-ewwel wahhalulu u mbaghad kellu l-wicc imur ikellmu qisu qatt ma kien xejn.
[Daphne – Coincidentally, I’ve just put up a post about this.]
“Not true. I greeted him and talked normally.”
I cannot picture Luciano Busuttil talking normally – under any circumstances.
To be fair though social media have exposed crass ignorance and lack of culture on both sides of the political fence. I think as a people we have always sensed that many of our politicians have, essentially, never read a book, but social media have made this clear in frightening way.
Ya(w)na might have gone to London to follow the horses on parade and pick up ammunition for further use.
Jista’ jkun li Luciano mar u qallu kemm jiddispjacih…
Thanks for another bag of horse dung Yana. . .
Typical caviar socialist.
Pure Super One journalist style
You should start calling Joseph Muscat “I’ll Gurnalist” he acts like one and talks like one. I think he forgets he’s leader of the opposition.
Is he actually saying that Labour supporters are usually the hamalli?
