Most pertinent comment in response to Luciano Busuttil’s half-brained idiocy

I’m suprised that anyone in the Labour Party is concerned that Mr Cachia Caruana is still being paid, given that they failed to support the impeachment of a judge who fleeced the taxpayer by taking his salary while refusing to go in to work for seven years.

    A pertinent question:

Why are Labour – especially Luciano yours-truly Busuttil – not ashamed to crow over their hollow victory? They celebrate the fact that their motion was carried but have nothing to say for the institutions and processes their action is supposed to have defended.

And as an aside, one now wonders if Farrugia Sacco will be investigated by the justice ministry. In my opinion he did absolutely nothing wrong but I notice Labour’s silence on this whole issue. Is it because a member of his family will be contesting the coming general election on Labour’s ticket?

[Daphne – The Justice Ministry can’t investigate. It has reported him to the Commission for the Administration of Justice, for investigation.]

No, Taks Fors. Farrugia Sacco did a lot wrong.

Together with magisterial-car-at-his-disposal Antonio Mizzi, he gave the middle finger to the Commission for the Administration of Justice.

He was told that his involvement in the administration of sport was incompatible and unethical with his position as a member of the judiciary. This is common sense, and how prophetic the Commission has been proved to be.

And George Abela, who fought Farrugia Sacco’s case, now chairs the Commission. What a shit mess.

Irrespective of whether or not Farrugia Sacco is implicated in any shady dealings as regards the sale of Olympics tickets, the mere fact that he occupies the position he does in the MOC (in defiance of the Commission) has landed himself on the front page of The Sunday Times (London) for all the wrong reasons.

His pig-headed defiance, backed by Abela, has resulted in his good name being called in to question. Who cares about that?

What we do care about, though, is that here is another member of the Maltese judiciary who has become an embarrassment by not living up to the high ethical standards that have been laid down by the Commission, and that we expect of him.

It is high time that Farrugia Sacco spares us from any further embarrassment, complies with the Commission for the Administration of Justice, and resigns from the MOC forthwith.

I’m surprised that Luciano Busuttil is still being paid his MP honoraria, considering how he spends his time in Parliament posting stupid comments on Facebook and Twitter, and trivialising an undemocratic trial of a civil servant in a Parliamentary committee as a back-yard barbecue.
