How do you verbally attack the police uniform?

Published: July 21, 2012 at 1:20am

Sometimes, there is light relief among the dross of news. On timesofmalta.com:

PC Spiteri said Mr Cilia drove round Sa Maison, through Msida and back up to the police headquarters, where they were joined by another car and blocked his way.

The police went to speak to him, he wound down the window and he verbally attacked the police uniform. He also called the police commissioner “a cabbage from Cospicua”.

Mr Spiteri said that a colleague used his torch to look into Mr Cilia’s car and the latter told him “what do you expect to find, your mother?”.

Allerwieh, what a relief! Some very peculiar form of humour, definitely inadvertent, but efficaciously endomorphic in all this storm and stress. Now how is that for verbal double-knotting?

Why people cannot write plain, simple English anymore is a mystery.

You have to admit that the “kaboċċa minn Bormla” bit is a work of art. Poetry.

  3. F’ghoxx l-uniformi tieghek. It’s a grevious injury.

    Classic.

We have to give it to this William Shakespeare of ours: the insults he employed are classics.
