Virgin Radio has just played a major blast from the safety-pin (don’t ask) era of my past: Sid Vicious’s My Way, one of the greatest covers of all time.
At moments like this, I can see that there are some advantages to not working in an office at, say, Middlesea Insurance, and being able to throw the volume right up.
But then my present-day self kicked in and thought what a great, ironic soundtrack that would make to a YouTube video of the Ginger Prat.
Now it’s ruined. Never mind.

The Vinyl Factory issued a collection to celebrate the Jubilee.
By coincidence I thought of the Sex Pistols yesterday, and spent an afternoon listening to their music, including that track. This is what triggered the trip down memory lane:

[Daphne – Virgin Radio Italy. You have to grit your teeth and get past those irritating Italian voices acting ‘cool’.]
I’ve just read your comment to this Italian fellow who happens to be in my office. “It’s true” he says.
Daphne, bull’s eye.

A group of volunteers is helping bring Hungarian girl Agnes Revesz home. She went missing on Malta on 22nd July.
She hasn’t been heard from since. We have prepared posters and we need to reach as many people as we can.
Would you be so kind to post the poster on your website?
We would be so gretaful for your help, your column is being read by meny people, some of them might know where Agnes is.
The poster can be found here:

Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.
The Times is behind the times also. Headline on page 14 of today’s print edition: ‘Security is PM’s main concern at London 2011’.
Forgot to wish all Maltese Olympians a hearty good luck at London 2012.
