Joseph has a problem, because the dead man was black, not gay
With a significant number of his MPs, his Super One chief and staff registered to a racist Facebook group, Joseph Muscat woke up this morning to speak about the murder of an African detainee, while not once mentioning prejudice, violence or racism.
He said he was choosing his words “carefully and responsibly” so as not to “score cheap political points as the PN tried to do last night”.
He then went on to score cheap political points by using this racist murder to attack his opposite number, saying that “those responsible had to shoulder their responsibility”.
By this he did not mean the soldiers who were the last people to see the man when he was alive, but the politicians he hopes to defeat at the next election.
He knows the soldiers and their families almost certainly vote for his xenophobic party.
The man was “allegedly killed” – imagine that, “allegedly killed”, as though he kicked himself in the spleen and kidneys – because, Joseph Muscat said, “those responsible for the management of migrants should be adequately trained”, meaning they are not and that’s why they ‘allegedly kill’ those in their care.
My first reaction was ‘he cannot be serious’, but yes, he is indeed serious.
Now compare this to the kind of opportunistic reaction we could expect from Joseph and Labour if a man were set upon and murdered for being homosexual.
It would be rainbow flag, crocodile tears and protest demo season, with that twerp Luciano Busuttil heading the parade.

In 2012 it is fashionable for Labour to be pro-gay. But for the PL you can be everything but a black migrant, which is very sad. Joseph Muscat is really worse than Alfred Sant who at least did not politicize the migration issue.
But of course – Labour is pro-homosexuals (too big a word for them to use, I guess) because this group of people represent a cluster of votes. Iillegal immigrants, on the other hand, do not.
I am not only worried but frightened at the prospect of Joseph Muscat becoming the PM and turning Malta into a racist haven.
Suspending the Constitutional Court, like his idol Mintoff did, will be his first priority, no doubt followed by a Gestapo-like police security force.
This quite contradictory. There are no values at stake here besides cheap opportunism.
So a while ago it was Dr Muscat who was suggesting and criticising the Maltese government for not doing as Italy did and let people in distress at their own peril. Now that an immigrant has died while in custody, he wants those responsible to be accountable.
Well maybe he still thinks that members of the army and the police receive direct orders from Government like in the Golden Years.
B’zewg terzi mil-grupp parliamentari issa mgharufin pubblikament li registrati mal-FaceBook Group kontra l-immigranti suwed, naraw Joseph Muscat issa jerghax ikollu l-wicc jghammilhom ‘party’ kif kien ghamel ftit ilu biex juriehna kemm il-PL huwa ‘tollerant’ u inklusiv.
