Labour’s equal opportunities spokesman defends a soldier standing trial for racist murder

They’re fine ones to talk about conflict of interest and political messes. The soldiers accused of the racist murder of one of the African immigrants in their care have three defence lawyers. One of them, Joe Giglio, isn’t in politics.

But the others are Rachel Tua, the – ahem – Labour Party’s EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES OFFICER – and Franco Debono, the man who would be home affairs minister and responsible for the police and the army.

    Is this the same girl who used to insist on writing her extended family name (Rachel Tua Fenech Adami) on examination booklets in her first year at university, rather than her index number?
