MP Joe Mizzi sued for libel

The police yesterday filed criminal libel charges against Labour MP Joe Mizzi and the editor of the party’s news programme ONE News, on a complaint by Richard Cachia Caruana, former ambassador to the EU.

Mr Cachia Caruana claimed comments made by Mr Mizzi during the programme aired last Friday were criminally libellous.

Magistrate Francesco Depasquale has been appointed to hear the case and it is set to begin in the coming days.

    Probably when this case is finally decided no one will be still be interested in this issue.

    Now that the police yesterday filed criminal charges against Labour MP Joe Mizzi, shouldn’t he be told to resign from PL until his case is terminated?
