Isn’t Evarist Bartolo supposed to be in charge of this rubbish?
Claudia Greco – Franco Debono doesn’t like her.
A political party’s news website is its flagship, sending out messages about what the party stands for and the standards it meets.
And the Labour Party’s Maltastar is absolute rubbish, staffed by people with half a brain, a single-digit IQ and Evarist Bartolo in charge (he teaches communications at the university, if you please).
Just look at the latest embarrassment. Franco Debono has been busy laying into the Nationalist Party’s new candidate Claudio Grech (because you know, he’s an Austin Gatt man and we can’t have that, can we, ma tarax).
Except that Franco Debono, to cunningly avoid court cases and suchlike, refers to him as Claudia Greco.
Maltastar, which has taken to reading Franco’s blog because all is quiet on Jeffrey’s wall, didn’t make the screamingly obvious connection, thinks Claudia Greco is a real person, and breathlessly reported to its readers:
In his latest blog of 6 August 2012 MP Franco Debono attacks the culture of cronyism that is rife in the PN. He refers to cronies like Claudia Greco who have no particular competencies except having a mum that “was a good canvasser from Hamrun, and she leaves the door ajar, they moan and groan!”
He says that like Claudia “People ask to be admitted as clerks and become millionaires with great business contacts and fingers in every pie in ten years time, some big property deals, maybe in Bulgaria or the east, getting smart in the village and the city.”
Debono said the PN needs new blood, not clones or lackeys. About some of the new young candidates that the PN will be fielding in the coming election he said that they do not queue to be given “the post of part-time chefs, they want to be silent partners in the restaurant, they do not want to work as plasterers, but they want to get silent partners with some big contractor. If Claudia Greco can then, yes we can!”

But if I may pass a comment, how does PM Gonzi stick with this?
It has reached such embarrassing levels that I simply cannot comprehend how a well meaning person, for the sake of extending the life of the Government he leads, sticks with this kind of “merde” (to use KZT’s word for shit, from today’s Times).
[Daphne – Oh I guess it’s because he wants to save us from the consequences of decisions taken at the polls by lots of people with your sort of decision-making skills. I agree with him. Better this government with Franco Debono than a Labour government.]

Evarist should be remembered for the Sherlock Holmes logic displayed in the BWSC case.
And to think that this piece of work is elected on two districts – padre et figlio et santo…..
I think they’re just doing it on purpose to avoid another libel case.
