It may be my impression but to me a person who defends himself like that is perceived as weak.

What a pity that Franco Debono does not realize that his consistent narcissistic behaviour is the result of his failure to develope beyond the mentality of a II C schoolboy.
Does this imply that those who, unfortunately, did not have the opportunity to study and sit for exams, do not take things seriously?

Who is he to be talking about “high achievers” when he can’t even write a single coherent, error-free, grammatically correct sentence?
Who is he to talk about being a high achiever when his grouse is that he isn’t one?
The main problem with Franco is that because he takes things very seriously (he repeats this 4 times in the short extract above), very few take him seriously.
One should take things seriously in life, but one should not take himself seriously, you know, to avoid getting disappointed when everything else fails.
What’s wrong with his shift key?
