    It is quite clear that 7 months ago, when Joseph Muscat seriously thought that an election was imminent, Joseph could stop Jason from being an electoral candidate by claiming the excuse that there were some agreed-upon urgent issues.

    It is clear that he committed to that with Jason, with the hope that he would stop Jason from being an electoral candidate. Now that the situation in the government cleared and Labour’s urgent issues were superseded, Joseph could not find another excuse without Jason’s reaction. So Jason prevailed.

    Not a very strategic plan on Joseph’s part.
