Another smashing headline

The BBC has picked up John Dalli’s egocentric concerns:

He added: “This is a very serious decision that Mr Barroso took, very serious. It will damage my whole future, and it will damage the future of my family.”

The same story includes this gem:

Mr Barroso warned him to “behave with integrity”. He said Mr Dalli must respect Article 245 of the EU Treaty, which rules that officials can be stripped of their pension or other benefits if they fail to act with integrity.

Ha jibqa sejjer hekk? What future, for heaven’s sake? The man is 64. He collects his EU Commission pension next year and has been collecting his Maltese one for the last three years.

Perhaps he reckoned he has another 20 years of deals in him yet.

Isn’t he starting to look like Anglu Farrugia?

There, the John Dalli & Associates brand is now worthless.

Apart from the part-salary and pension from the EU, what else is John Dalli collecting every month? Regular Maltese pension? Pension as MP and minister?

It seems to me that his and his family’s future is by far more secure than an average upper middle class family.

Why is he crying poor? He is just making a fool of himself and embarrassing Malta even more. Once he returns, maybe he should be barred from travelling abroad to hold yet more Press conferences.

Is it coincidence they chose that picture of him looking really bad?
