Franco, you’re such a cheap and tacky fraud

He boasts about requesting the repeal of the criminal defamation law, while at the same time making use of it himself against those who criticise him. Hypocrite, liar and fraud.
Not only is Franco having his blog-posts written for him by…oooops, sorry, better not tell you…while passing them off as his own.
But tonight he also had the nerve to get the same person…oooops, nearly let the cat out of the bag there, sorry…to write a piece for him claiming that he is all in favour of freedom of speech and that he campaigned for the repeal of the criminal defamation law.
One of the reasons this blog was set up was the distorsion by some media fora of even the basic facts, to the greatest detriment of the reader/viewer. The twisting of facts is incredible at times. I have enormous respect for freedom of speech, so much so that I was the member of Parliament in MALTA, who filed a motion in Parliament calling for the abolition of criminal libel. It is one of the points of my private members motion about justice and home affairs reforms.
God almighty, what a cheap and blatant fraudster. Has this man now actually begun to believe his own lies?
Two weeks ago I was contacted by the police cyber crime unit. They had received a complaint about a piece on my website suggesting that Franco Debono’s house is for sale. The complainant requested the police to start criminal investigations against me for that comment.
My response, though I put it in polite language, was that the police could tell Franco Debono to go f**k himself, because he was quite obviously the complainant who was requesting my investigation for criminal defamation. Who else would have that interest in a comment about his house being for sale?
I also pointed out to the police that they are not empowered by law to investigate or request information from individuals unless they have reasonable grounds to suspect that a crime has been committed. Receiving a complaint from a member of parliament, or anyone else for that matter, is not sufficient grounds.
Suggesting that somebody’s house is for sale can in no way be construed as a crime, I said to the police, and their criminal lawyer/complainant/freedom of speech lover does not know this, the police should.
I also told the police that they could tell Franco Debono, from me, that if he persists in putting pressure on the police to take action against me, while protesting that he loves freedom of speech, I will follow the exact same course of action and request the police to investigate him for criminal defamation for all the truly slanderous comments about me which he uploaded on his demented website.
He loves freedom of speech tonight, does he? Why, what is he on today, for a change? Only last week he was bringing breach of privilege complaints in parliament against some ordinary private citizen who posted a comment on timesofmalta.com, and against his fellow lawyer and newspaper columnist Andrew Borg Cardona, for a chance remark spoken on breakfast television.
Perhaps I should send somebody to his door with a large nutS-cracker. And no, stupid man, you needn’t take that literally.

Franco must have been feeling good today to say those words.
Not related to Franco.
An interesting read:
http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2012/10/wolfgang-beltracchi-helene-art-scam
A Malta-based company, Trasteco Ltd., purchased Red Picture with Horses at Lempertz’s auction for €2.8 million ($3.6 million at that time)—the highest price ever paid for a work by the Netherlands-based German Expressionist. Trasteco wired the money to Lempertz, which took its cut then passed the balance to the Beltracchis. Then, unexpectedly, Trasteco demanded that Lempertz provide a certificate of authenticity. It didn’t exist. “Normally, we would get the expertise done ourselves, but in this case Lempertz had promised to do it, and they didn’t. They were not serious people,” says Helene, indignantly. (It’s an odd judgment coming from a career criminal who spent the better part of 20 years cheating everyone she came across. “Simply outrageous!” says a lawyer for Lempertz, countering that the firm had made no such promise to Helene Beltracchi, and had indeed conducted its own due diligence before the auction.) Unsatisfied with the response from Lempertz, Trasteco hired Andrea Firmenich to examine the painting. Firmenich, says modern-art expert Ralph Jentsch, had previously authenticated a number of Campendonks which he now believes were painted by Beltracchi. This time, however, she went to unusual lengths to ascertain the painting’s provenance.
Reminds me of Mr Bean being congratulated by a birthday card written by himself on his birthday occasion. Oh what a wreck.
Are you watching Anglu fuq iswed fuq l-abjad?
His heart aches about the land that was going to be privatised for parking. He said it’s our land selling it to the private sector. He suffers from dementia, when Labour requisitioned private property for Labour clubs.
Not only can’t this most mysterious person spell distortion, but they don’t even seem to know how to use a spellchecker.
[Daphne – No, that’s the sort of deliberate error you put in when you wish to mislead. It’s telling that it came immediately after my post about how his pieces are ghost-written. People who can write well have serious problems writing badly even when the pretence demands it. Even anonymity is not enough to overcome their instinctive distaste for a bad sentence.]
Remarkable perception, Daphne.
Doesn’t Franco Debono realise that his political career is as good as burnt toast.
Is he expecting that the PN, post Dr Gonzi’s leadership, whenever that will happen, is going to bring him back and involve him as a candidate?
No PN leader would ever want to have this lunatic within the party, EVER.
Franco Debono, get this into your head: YOU ARE FINISHED within the PN.
Although Labour has picked up much rubbish, I am sure that he won’t even qualify for their skip.
What a pathetic person.
So who gets the ace prize?
Daphne.
He is trying to imitate your blog, Daphne. All he is attracting though are Labourites who want to use him to oust this government.
In fact, what exactly is Franco Debono aiming at?
He has allowed his envy and contempt get the better of him. I just wonder where he sees himself in ten years’ time.
His brain has not yet developed past the stage that reacts to the immediate present with no consideration for the future.
Normal human beings overcome that phase around the age of eight.
Franco is a sore loser. He cannot accept the fact that he was not given a ministerial post.
So he is now on revenge mode.
He is attacking all those who hold a cabinet position.
He is cornered with a severely battered ego. He knows very well that his political days are over.
After the next election the only publicity he will get is perhaps a mention as a lawyer. The Opposition are exploiting him but they will dump him once the election is over.
Indeed Franco is his own worst enemy. He has been ousted by his own party and despised by his voters.
Well done, Franco; I have to admit that your suicide mission was an incredible success.
He is just getting back at you for not marrying him.
Actually strange as it might sound, or rather scary as it might sound, he is acting in the same manner as an emotionally stunted person would do, once he becomes obsessed with something or someone
Raphael?
[Daphne – Don’t think so, no.]
it’s fellow lawyer Michela Spiteri:
check this out: http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20120603/opinion/What-on-Franco-has-Gonzi-done-.422524
and this:
“The Nationalist MP said another Sunday Times writer, Micaela Spiteri, made an interesting observation about growing up in a society with certain misconceptions, such as that Giga killed her son. It was important, Dr Debono said, that society took a hard look at itself.” (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20120228/local/Debono-s-formula-for-the-future-Fix-what-you-break-.408855)
and…..
“As for Debono, I feel much safer knowing he’s around. It’s like having a food-critic permanently resident in the restaurant’s kitchen – it makes it that much harder for them to spit in your soup. He might go down in history as the crazy guy who thought he could change Maltese politics, but ‘the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are usually the ones that do’.
Franco, please don’t go.”

He definitely *thinks* he should be made king. Or possibly emperor.
There we go again – the creme de la creme. The only thing such people are capable of is insulting those who do not agree with them.

It’s incredible how he manages to extrapolate reality from his being.
A year ago his message was that he deserved being one of them, this week he’s decided they’re all utter crooks, failures, freemasons, anything to justify why he wasn’t chosen.
If this is what he was after, we’ve been spared an unimaginable potential embarrassment to the party. If the other two have a couple of scandals to look back on, Franco preempted his.

His latest isn’t his either;
‘They try to slow the political rythm to then try and sprint to gain momentum, with eyes fixed at all times on the plummeting polls….’
Edward Clemmer could be right, whoever it is, has a knack for polls and campaigns.
Now let’s see, campaigns, the police, criminal procedure, Marsaxlokk and Birzebbugia, an ultra nationalistic fetish for institutional supremacy, autonomy of same, the justice ministry (that would be Herrera) and media spotlight, preferably TV.
Sharon.
All in favour of freedom of speech? Until yesterday evening he always accepted my comments on his blog. However, yesterday evening he refused to accept my comment on how strange it is that he does not support any of the prominent members of the cabinet.
I asked why he contested on the PN ticket in the first place. I also said that he should not have been accepted by the Nationalist Party at all and that he should be expelled.
Joseph Vassallo: If I am not mistaken, you also wrote that the polls are plumetting for GonziPn because of Franco. That is the best compliment you could make !
Eddie Privitera, the polls are plummeting for the wrong reasons. Last January PN had managed to close the gap to just 7%. March 2011 PL had a lead of 14%. When Franco abstained, PL regained that lead. The people are against PN because it is a divided party and not because PL have the better policies. In fact PL have no policies.
PL is saying that it does not want to announce its policies before the campaign kicks off because otherwise the PN will implement the policies itself.
PL thinks that it is important to wear a blue tie to get elected.
PL thinks that it is important to change the name of the Party from MLP to PL.
PL thinks that by removing the old flags it can get elected.
Do you remember when Mintoff used to call Eddie Vavu tal-harqa? Thank God we do not have the same style as Mintoff’s!
We do not agree on politics but I still have the utmost respect for you and I do read your contributions everywhere.
It is good for democracy.
The government should buy his house (or take it by force like Labour used to do in the past) and make it a ‘museum of horrors’.
He loves democracy and freedom of speech so much that he deletes comments he doesn’t like.
He is a parliamentary assistant who is being paid as such and who hasn’t gone to his office in the ministry since January. He didn’t even have the decency to resign.
