    Remember the pilots’ union’s call for a strike last year?

    Now this news is out, I hear there’s a huge uproar in Air Malta’s various employee groups as it finally dawned on them that Captain Dumink took them all for a ride.

    What a shame! Domenic a well-known PL supporter managed to secure this deal by threatening the government and Air Malta management.

    No disciplinary action was ever taken against him for delaying a flight on the contrary as a reward he gets an additional increase in his salary.

    This is why the likes of Mr Azzopardi continue to prosper.

    Well done to Air Malta’s management for accepting to bargain with someone who has been so disrespectful and insolent towards the airline and its CEO.

    This is indicative of a lack of leadership at Air Malta. Simone Cini is surely happy about this deal.

      I totally agree with your comment. While Mr Azzopardi got what he wanted, (His Golden Egg) – Other employees within the said company have ended up with the proverbial biscuit.

      This is what really peeves me off, I mean the innocent fall whilst double dealing scoundrels, seem to remain strong and never go under.

    Maltatoday online quotes Gift of Life spokesman Paul Vincenti as saying ‘The law as proposed sets out to protect human life from fertilisation’.

    What does he mean? I was under the impression that the gift of life was not possible without fertilisation first taking place.

    You impatient people. Wait for it. Franco Debono has just learned about the whole thing and has been writing and correcting his blog all through the night.

    Wait for his attack on Air Malta pilots. He might even present a motion for the agreement to be suspended and be discussed in Parliament where he will/will not give his blessing.

    This is a deja vu. It was the pilots salary increase which sparked off the obscene salary hikes of the late nineties which ultimately broke the airline’s back and brought it to its knees.

    These were eagerly followed by the cabin crew, senior management, clerks and finally the loaders. As soon as they smell available money, they just jump on it. To hell with the airline or the taxpayers who are keeping it afloat with their money. Shame on the lot of them.
