Bill Maher on Sarah Palin and politicians doing politics via Facebook:
“Apparently Sarah Palin quit her job as Governor of Alaska to spend more time on Facebook. I’m serious. She’s on Facebook every day now. Because this is the proper forum to confront the President of the United States on the most important issue of our day, a social networking site for teenagers.”

Maybe she thinks she’s a teenager. Many 50-somethings behave like those in their 20s.
And especially in Maltese politics, many 30-year-olds behave like 60-year-olds. They have old-fashioned and outmoded ideas.
These 30-year-olds in politics should bring in fresh and new bright ideas. The 60-year-olds should listen to them.
I am in my fifties and refuse to open a Facebook account.
@Paul Bonnici I’m OK with your opinion, but did you know that Facebook has these features? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook_features
It is better for a bimbo like Sarah Palin to be on Facebook than to look at Russia from her living-room window.
Daphne isn’t that different either. She might have no facebook account but she’s glued to it seeing what others write, copy & paste it here in this blog.
[Daphne – No, I don’t look at Facebook. Occasionally, others send me stuff, but that’s about it. Having a top-ranked blog kind of makes a Facebook wall redundant, don’t you think?]
Maybe Bill Maher does not “get” Facebook yet. Yes, it is a social network, but NO, it is not just for teenagers. Read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook#Political_impact

Betty White ( 90 year old star of Mary Tyler Moore Show, Golden Girls, amongst others) :
Saturday Night Live (2010)
……. it was White’s acidic opening monologue that stole the show. “I didn’t know what Facebook was,” she mused of the online campaign to have her appear as host, “and now that I do know what it is, I have to say, it sounds like a huge waste of time.”
