Ehhhh, platt ghagin bhal dak!

Franco Debono is in his spiritual home, Rome, presumably meditating among the ruins. He left on Thursday.

He returns on Monday to vote against the Budget, after which a party to celebrate the collapse of the government is planned for Laburisti and their fellow-travellers.

I am interested in seeing how Botox Jeff plans to work this one out. Will he vote for the Budget, as he said he would, and then accompany Mrs Pullicino Mark II to the celebration of its defeat afterwards?

Or will Mrs Pullicino Mark II go unaccompanied?

Such rubbish people.

I wish that this story about the party is true and it will really happen after Franco votes along with Joseph.

This event will be a good eye-opener to the undecided and the usual switchers.

They will realise what a puerile lot you all are, and where you will head Malta if you succeed in winning the next election.

Remember one thing – that he who laughs last laughs best.

In 2008, Dr. Gonzi, single-handed, managed to turn a deficit of about 13,000 votes into another PN victory.

You prove my point that to vote Labour (in Malta) you must either be of below average intelligence and/or lazy and envious of people willing to work for their success, or brainwashed from birth and so prejudiced that you can’t change.

You decided I’m a ‘Christian-Democrat’ because you can’t see it’s anybody with an IQ higher then a peanut’s or without a chip on their shoulder, and not just PN supporters who hate Mintoff for all the ‘hdura’ and hatred he sowed in Malta, the repercussions of which we still feel today.

You decided I go to mass, and receive communion, but I left Malta ages ago, mainly because of the lanzit-ridden mentality of oh so many Maltese, you being a prime example.

I visit just often enough to keep a vote, and the only reason I bother is to vote against the Labour Party, and will do so until every last remnant of that vile bastard’s presence is thrown out, may he rot in hell.

As for quoting Christ, coming from you, Mr ‘Living in Sin’ according to Christian teachings, that’s rich. I have no problem with it, but you brought it up.

The votes will be equal and the speaker will cast his obligatory “YES” vote…Budget 2013 passes and everyone will live happily ever after.

    • xmun says:

Don’t bet on it. He’s probably returning to Malta tomorrow. He will not miss Monday’s vote for anything in this world.

I could not find the relevant articles or facts, but I do recall that a while back Judge Farrugia Sacco and some other judge / magistrate were reprimanded by the government for retaining posts in such organisations / committees, like the MOC, band clubs, voluntary organisations etc, placing their own integrity at risk.

The reply from Farrugia Sacco was that he would not resign because he was doing nothing wrong. No action whatsoever was taken by the Commission of the administration of justice

If my memory serves me right , that happened about 10 years ago when Minister Gatt had insisted that judges should not have anything to do with such organizations because of perceived conflict of interest in case of judicial cases involving such organizations ie band clubs, sports committees etc.

Both judges Farrugia-Sacco and Tonio Mizzi gave the proverbial third finger to the minister at the time.

This happened at the time when the case involving ex- judges Vella and Arrigo ended up public domain..

Franco must be putting the final touches to his new abode in the Eternal City. After Monday’s vote, I would think he will spirit himself away to Rome for the next weeks and months.

Demoting himself to non-entity status in Malta, he will crave to be called Dottore again. He’ll be Malta’s shame walking down Appia Antica.

    • a. attard says:

I do not think that the Italians refer to lawyers as “dottore”. That’s only in Malta.

      • Antoine Vella says:

Italians use dottore for anyone who has graduated from university, whatever the course (being so common and widespread, the title isn’t such a big deal as it is in Malta) but they don’t keep referring to their politicians as dottore as we do here. Normally they just use the surname, sometimes accompanied by the christian name but without any title.

      • Qeghdin Sew says:

The surname thing is very widespread. Even female personalities become ‘La’ + surname.

      • etil says:

Italians refer to lawyers as ‘Avvocato’

  15. Joseph Vassallo says:

What if Franco Debono misses the flight back?

  16. Just me says:

But will Franco vote against? I am hoping that he will not even though he said he would.

I think he is intelligent enough to realise that the best thing for himself is to vote in favour of the budget. JPO and Mugliett are voting in favour and putting this on him alone.

If he votes against and the budget does not pass, this will cause unnecessary problems and hardships to many people. He and the PL will be seen in a very bad light and he would have jeopardized his political and legal careers even further.

No, I am hoping that Franco will do the right thing and vote in favour of the budget. If he does vote in favour, he will show a sense of maturity and win back the respect of many people.

    • Futur Imcajpar says:

You can’t be serious! Win the respect of many? After all that he’s done? He’s LONG lost any claim to respect. He’s been threatening and blackmailing for years. He’s LONG, LONG crossed the line of decency.

Intelligent enough? Show a sense of maturity? What planet are you living on?

  22. Gahan says:

I saw this bill board which says that Gonzi PN proposes and Labour delivers.

I think it should be Gonzi PN proposes and delivers ; Labour started the children’s allowance and GonziPN saw to it that they are provided and increased for a whole twenty five years, same applies to pensions which Labour used to tell us that the PN will remove once they are in power.

Well not only pensions were increased by a greater amount than they should, but also other bonuses and social benefits were created…Gonzi PN delivers the goods with extras.

Truly I ask: “What did tardy Joseph ever deliver?” If he delivered pizza it would surely be cold, because he’s always late.Good deliveries are on time.

BTW: yesterday a PL tragedy of unimaginable magnitude was avoided because we were supposed to watch Anglu debating with Simon.

Sorry to disappoint you but I think we will never see them together debating on Xarabank. Yesterday Anglu was “indispost”.

I suspect that Franco is in Rome to get a hold of one of those cool rooster hats.

He might as well bring another rooster hat for Joseph to cover that big bald spot and to be even more like his idol as shown on this vintage newsreel.

According to today’s The Malta Independent on Sunday, Debono is quoted as saying that it will be a privilege for him to vote against the budget.

We can assure him that that the privilege won’t be as big as ours when we finally see the back of him.
