More sleaze

How disgraceful that Judge Farrugia Sacco (a total Laburist) has been allowed to worm himself into a position where he can embarrass Malta on the international scene by being among six officials now named by the International Olympics Committee’s ethics commission as being part of a ticketing scam.

The situation in our law courts is intolerable. Judges and magistrates can be as squalid and awful as they please, secure and confident in the knowledge that nothing and nobody can touch them.

They abuse of a constitutional safeguard designed to protect them from prime ministerial caprice and vengeance in the performance of their duties without fear or favour.

Instead, they abuse that safeguard to protect themselves in their sordid behaviour.

It is only parliament that may impeach a judge or magistrate, with a two-thirds majority minimum. Because the Labour Party has consistently refused to cooperate on impeachment (Judge Depasquale, who refused to go to work for seven years while still collecting his salary, is a spectacular example of that), these rotters do what they please.

Can you imagine Labour impeaching Judge Farrugia Sacco, one of the closest friends of the future Justice Minister’s sister?

Because I certainly can’t.

Imagine how those people feel who must now appear before Farrugia Sacco.

    Just sleaze.

“One of the closest friends of the future Justice Minister’s sister…” And father to a Labour star candidate.

Can someone refuse or somehow oppose a judgement on the basis of the (lack of) integrity of the judge?

It is impossible to feel safe when you appear in front of these so-called judges. I just cannot understand how they do not feel ashamed appearing in public.

  6. D Gatt says:

I feel that the real problem here is that Judge Farrugia Sacco is, in your words, a total Laburist.

What strikes me most is not the sleaze and corruption.

These have been around and will be around forever.

What is so flabbergasting is the cheek these people have.

    It is the barefaced shamelessness.

  8. canon says:

Slowly but surely these people became untouchables.

  9. The Phoenix says:

Judge Farrugia Sacco is about to deliver a judgement that will throw the pharmaceutical sector into confusion and bitterness, just as long as it’s against the government and in favour of a certain Sliema Laburist nicknamed “Supperv Lucifru”.

  10. The Phoenix says:

I am also informed that our dear President is not comfortable in chairing the Commision for the Administration of Justice….although he is constitutionally bound to do so. Therefore the Commission does not meet. I’m not surprised he has taken this stance. It is a shameful stance. Yet no one speaks.

To take your thoughts away from Labour sleaze and corruption:

    Bible readers take note:

    It all makes sense now.

In Arizona, gay marriage and marajuana being legalized on the same day.

LEVITICUS 20:13 ‘If a man lies with another man he should be stoned.’

We’ve been interpreting it wrong all these years.

D Gatt – the problem is not that the judge is a Laburist – he is entitled to his choice, but the problem is that a judge’ should behave in a dignified manner at all times.

Appearing on Facebook, in my opinion is not dignified, shadowed activities to sell tickets for the olympics is not dignified, holding office in such organisations when advised to leave, is not dignified. We had Judges who were Labour Judges, but they had dignity and honour.
