And meanwhile, here’s the form you fill in to join Franco Debono’s political party (should he decide to set it up, that is). No, this is not a spoof. It’s real.
Of course companies will be interested. When commercial companies spot somebody who is so committed to a project in such an absolute and obstinate way, they will swarm around it like flies on dung.
It does not mean the project is viable, it just means there is money to be made by whoever wins the contract.
I am watching Konrad on TVM this morning and thank goodness his silly grin and his superiority complex seem to have dwindled. Nahseb tah xi hasla, Kurt.
For the iggest laugh watch Tonio fenech crying out that our lady appeared to him and said that she is cring?? Who the hell does he thinks he is ? Tell us more Daphne??
Minister Fenech replies to Konrad Mizzi on steel prices issue
Minister Fenech has replied to Dr. konrad Mizzi after Dr. Mizzi stated that steel prices were going down during a televised debate on Xarabank.
Yesterday the portal http://www.myenergymalta.com published steel prices and the average price (euro per tonne) went from 644 in August 2011 to 583 in September 2012.
In his reply Minister Fenech stated that “Conveniently Mr Conrad Mizzi presented a chart to support his argument that is up to September 2012.
We are January 2013, in 3 and a half months the world has changed a bit and prices are on the rise again. Prices are on the rise again and are expected to continue rebounding on the back of an improving Chinese economy which consumes 50% of the world demand.
If the European and the American economies rebound, as expected, then the decline in prices experienced last year will be reversed completely soon.”
When Midi was about to start work on the mall, steel production worldwide was redirected, for months on end, to China’s dam.
The issue with Konrad is that he’ll take us for a ride confident that for every problem there’s a solution.
Yes of course, so why create the problem in the first place?
If this proposal were credible, it would have the interconnector in place first, see what can be done with tarriffs, then consider the plant, fed by a pipeline.
And get funding.
Of course not, that’s the PN’s proposal. That shouldn’t even exist in people’s minds.
I’ve just come back from Valletta and apart from a big dummy iPhone with a message from the leader placed in the middle of St. George’s square, I noticed a wreath of flowers underneath one of the plaques of the palace.
To my surprise it was labelled with Malta Taghna Lkoll and placed underneath the plaque commemorating Malta becoming republic.
A couple of metres down there is another plaque marking Independence Day, which ironically marks Malta becoming taghna lkoll. No flowers there though.
Titled ‘Muscat does Comino: hors d’oeuvres and a boat trip for the press’ much was made of how the press were being dazzled by free food (instead of policies). Oh and a picture was also submitted of a plate of sandwiches and drinks.

Which company will show interest in a project which is not viable?
Will it be a contract, tendered for under EU procedures, or just an ‘expression of intent’ – whatever that means and whatever scope it carries?
I watched the recording of Xarabank and was shocked to see Mrs Pullicino Mark 1 blaming Gonzi for the cause of cancer.
Political opportunism at its worst.
Marlene is the quintessential example of political opportunism.
She was utterly incorrect in everything she mentioned.
This spiel that the PN didn’t do anything in the energy sector is sickening.
But which one is Herr Flick?

BWSC, yellow pages, GonziPN, energy plan.
I suppose being born into one of Sliema’s more notorious family of Mintoffjani who made a killing in the golden years doesn’t tally.
Edward Mallia didn’t endorse the plan, he preferred checking numbers with ‘more credible sources’, his words on Dissett yesterday.
He finds it absolutely incredible Muscat thinks a terminal and a pipeline are complementary.
As Konrad would say, check your facts.

So Muscat does Comino. Perhaps he’s trying to beat Debbie, who did Dallas.

Absoluetly fantastic video clip. Can’t stop laughing.
