Lawrence Gonzi live on NET TV now
Press conference for presentation of all Nationalist Party candidates – no need for a television; you can watch it live on the internet via mychoice.pn (link below).
He’s talking now about how absurd it is that Labour candidates have been asked to stand for election (and have agreed to do so) without even knowing what the party’s electoral programme is, or what they are supported to be representing.
Talking about the way Malta stayed safe through even the worst of the financial crisis, how the Nationalist Party does not experiment with people and their lives as the Labour Party does.
That’s a good expression: the Nationalist Party puts all its cards on the table. You know where you are.
With Labour, you don’t.
He’s at his best when speaking like this. It really points up the falseness of his opponent, his shallowness. Too bad so many people are just like Cook Islanders circa 1790 – just loving the shiny beads, the face cream, the suits sponsored by Bortex (Mrs Bortex, Ramona Frendo, is one of the main stars in Labour’s campaign video) and the snake-oil salespitch.

Manuel Micallef forgot very quickly how he was kicked uncerimonously out of the GWU, and now he is trying to lick Joseph Muscat.
Only a part thereof, please.
Muscat tells us that he is contesting the second and the fourth district- a safe Labour districts. To me his decision is very telling that he has no confidence he would be elected in balanced district.
How can the people trust Labour with their future.
It’s not that he wouldn’t be elected in the 12th district. It’s that – modest little man that he is – he wants to have a huge number of votes, possibly the most ever polled by a Maltese politician.
What a great speaker! Such a great difference from listening to Joseph Muscat.
Dr Gonzi is logical, eloquent and addresses the media with respect.
I especially like that he addresses the journalists by their name, and not in a condescending or over-familiar fashion as Muscat does.
Franco stumbles out….

Jospeh is already preparing the way how to fasttrack his new €600 million power station and the huge gas tanks.

The reason why Labour won’t divulge their electoral programme – Obviously because – ‘Mhux f’interess tal-poplu’ – for those with a memory.
Ramona Frendo, Mintoffjana minn guf ommha – literalment.
And she would like us to believe that she voted Nationalist or even AD at some time or another. Daqs dan!
She’s as much of a liar and a hypocrite as her dear Leader.
Oooo look Astrid took the trouble to meet Joseph but did not find enough time to say anything on the power station!!!
FAA chairperson Astrid Vella welcomed that MEPA’s dual functions be separated, but said that Labour’s proposals do not place enough emphasis on the issue of over-development, insisting that a Labour government should do more to curb the development boom of recent years.
Muscat assured her that the overdevelopment issue is a priority for the Labour Party, and insisted that a Labour government can do more than simply wait for the updating of the structural plans by ensuring that tariffs incentivise the renovation of existing buildings instead of the construction of new ones.

During the TVM news 8pm, they got footage of “press conference” Joseph Muscat gave in front of MEPA. He was saying that they propose to divide the planning and environmental part and do 2 separate agencies…”ghat-tharis ta’ l-ambjent”.
They should get some lessons in Maltese as well, after getting some in English.
It’s “ghal harsien ta’ l-ambjent”. The way you said it just means you go and look at the environment.
By the way Daphne, start expecting Joseph to come visit you. He’s contesting the 11th district instead of Anglu Farrugia.
