Lest we forget: When Malta really became taghna lkoll

May 1987: when Malta was forcibly wrested from the clutches of Karmenu Vella, Leo Brincat, Alex Sceberras Trigona and the rest of the sleazy (and worse) bunch.
March 2013: when Malta is going to be handed right back to them on a silver platter. Yes, to the very same.

The most heinous of all the distortions of history by the Malta Labour Party is its claim that Jum il Helsien falls in 1979.
We all know that the date is May 1987.
Watching that clip brought tears to my eyes because it truly was a pivotal moment in Malta’s recent history.
It is shameful and nothing short of scandalous when I now hear people arguing that Malta needs Joseph Muscat today in the same way that we needed Eddie Fenech Adami in 1987.
The comparison is an insult to all of us who lived in the 80s.
I was there in 1987 , I hope I will be still around in the encore that will follow very fast if disaster strikes in March 2013,
I was present at that mammoth meeting – so happy to be liberated from a 16-year stint of slavery under Mintoff and Co.
I remember vividly having my pent-up anger calmed and soothed by Eddie’s reconciliatory appeals and his promises to rectify so many injustices suffered till then during the regime’s maladministration.
I wonder whether Franco Debono feels any guilt for betraying the Nationalist Party, when he sees this video clip.
He messed up so badly, and this so soon after getting elected for the first time. Sad prima donna.
Will we ever forget this glorious day?
[Daphne – Lots of people have forgotten it already, apparently, because they’re about to vote in the seedy creeps they voted out back then, primarily Karmenu Il-Guy Vella and Leo Herr Flick Brincat.]
So much for Malta Taghna Lkoll as if this were a Joseph Muscat invention to save Malta.
10/03/13 the day our poor little island came full circle.
The day the Maltese got what they deserved.
Sorry to correct you, mate. I myself, and scores of thousands of Maltese certainly DO NOT deserve Malta’s coming full circle for a full five years (?) w.e.f. 10/03/13 – and will do my darned best for it not to happen. Presumably you yourself will, too.
Unfortunately yes, there is the possibility that our country is going to be handed back to the PL by the majority of most of the disgruntled PN – northern strongholds districts.
Remember the red phone, red windows and doors of Castille? Small things that said so much about the way the government and Xandir Malta were run.
I remember everything, the tear gas, the smoke from the Times, the Police attacks but almost above everything else I remember KMB’s expression when he stood on those trucks approaching Valletta and the beating of the metal tools against the sides of those trucks. Above it all there is a memory of Lorry Sant and his bullies tracking down someone. Like a KKK manhunt chase.
