u got more imp issues to worry about namely this:

[Daphne – Yes, I am worried, you’re right. It sounds crazy, akin to ‘we promise to remove VAT’.]

I thought Joseph was against SPV (Special Purpose Vehicles).

    • Jozef says:

The intention seems to be to split Enemalta in half, sell off the good company to the investor who’ll in turn, get to build the plant and keep it alongside Enemalta’s BWSC converted plant.

The ten year contract relies precisely on the fact that the island will require the electricity generated by what would essentially be their plant. It’s not clear what terms can be defined, and they won’t commit, not before the election.

This also implies three other possible details kept under wraps; the creation of a third company, owner of the grid and having the rights to the inteconnector, no doubt main shareholder government.

If I knew I had the state backing my business potentially blocking competition, I’d invest into the debt.

Then there’s installation of gas turbines which deliver partial load to be coupled to the Sicilian grid, Mizzi mentioned these himself, perfect for overbooking lines and mess with prices.

And finally, possible installation of CCS to sell emissions to oil companies for further income.

Assuming the above, If Mizzi thinks Crocetta, the new governor is willing to let him walk all over Sicilian territory as happened in the Veneto region where Serbian power plants made a killing, he’s mistaken.

Grillo got himself half the seats in the regional council, they won’t allow it.

And forget talking to Italians now, they’re busy campaigning as well.

Daphne is the person who, in Lyndsay’s own words, during Radio 101’s breakfast show yesterday, ‘serqitli l-boyfriend’.

  4. d_riddler says:

To answer your question, the Daphne of the title has stolen the singer’s boyfriend. Apparently, from what I gathered in an interview with her, the song is based on a true personal experience of the singer.

You can deduce this if you listen to the song in its entirety.

  5. MG says:

I think it is a really nice song just as you said but it is sung by a woman, because it treats a life experience of the person singing the song.

  6. Yanika says:

Maybe she’s talking about a lesbian relationship?

  7. colin says:

I guess Daphne betrayed her friend! The song is about betrayal – not very hard to understand.

  8. Johann says:

You’re so vain, you probably think this song is about you (it’s not).

  9. Iro says:

Towards the end the singer laments that your namesake pinched her man.

Or was it actually you who did the dirty, Mrs D?

  10. JX says:

If I heard correctly, at 1:01 she says “… my friend” (or was it a quick “… I’m afraid” ?)

  11. JC says:

Well written song. But my god blatant use of auto tune. Pretending to play the piano at the beginning doesn’t do her any justice either. Just another girl with a hobby and too much money unfortunately.

    • JY says:

Blame the producers for the auto-tune (I agree with you). Blame the video director for the piano finger sync (who doesn’t do it nowadays?)….for a girl who doesn’t play any instrument – she writes great songs and sings perfectly.

This is NOT a vanity song like Rebecca Black’s Friday. The girl is a true artist and actually has a good repertoire of original songs.
