Have you noticed how you’re not allowed to be ugly if you’re a woman (fake) switcher?
The one thing that’s struck me more than others about Labour’s campaign is that it is quite happy using ugly men for testimonials, but testimonials by women have to be by good-looking women.
All Labour’s testimonials are from ugly men and pretty women.
How does that work?
I’ll appreciate that finding good-looking men is tough – every woman knows that. But it really looks like they’re chosen their testimonial ladies for their looks, even when they have brains.
If you’re a plain Jane, or what the Americans call homely, Labour’s not going to want your testimonial. Instead they’ll stick you in Hugh Anastasi’s house and make you play the part of the stupid Nationalist mother who wants her daughter to vote PN because it’s the family tradition, and not because it’s the sensible thing to do.
Labour’s selection of women for testimonials is like the party’s selection of women to work in its newsroom or front it on television and at meetings in the igloo: Berlusconi girls.
But if you’re a man, you can be as ugly as sin, like Frederick Testa and Albert Gauci Cunningham. Imagine Labour putting on its billboards a woman who looks like that.
Labour: the most feminist party in history.

They are not called transfers anymore. The word is auditing.
Which one is the comedian and which is the tart?

What the fu*k is a Bisnis prosess enginijring meniger – what sort of a made up title is that?
It means you sack people to save money.
That’s called ‘rightsizing’.
A fancy way of saying that she has a make work job that involves little more than shuffling papers.
First time I saw this billboard was next to traffic lights near Addolorata cemetry intersection near ex Shipbuilding.
What came to mind was how I wish I was in a car with Labour-leaning people from the south to hear what they think.
They would naturally think she’s a Nazzjonalista non-touchable.
I take this with a pinch of salt because a) these ‘switchers’ seem more like attention seekers to me and b) the vote is a secret ballot, only you know what you vote for.
Testa was overheard saying he wants to teach the party ‘he loves’ a lesson.
It will be hilarious watching Frederick and Kenneth elbowing each other.
[Daphne – I don’t know what he’s on about. I always had him down as a Laburist, ever since I knew him at MADC 30 years ago.]
No he voted PN and also was seen in the PN festivities.
This is interesting:
He always said a lot with one and all against Jason Micallef and also vowed that as long as Jason Micallef was part of Labour he would never vote Labour.
What a bloody hyprocite.
Jason Micallef take note the people who are now around you.
Then there’s Joe Tanti.
At 0:27, one of the first to greet him outside Mile End. Switchers, yeah right.

Just read on the Times that John Bencini at the PL meeting said that this government has brought the country to its knees with the introduction of Arriva
Is this guy for real?
He is still upset that he did not become President of the CMTU.
John Bencini is someone who loves to be in the limelight. What he says or does is not guided by what is in the best public interest but that which will boost his ego.
PL are obliging by giving him airtime on One TV and by inviting him to speak at their mass meeting.
More often than not, people who crave for the limelight, like John Bencini, are all air and no substance.
Remember John Dalli? Franco Debono? Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando?
Finally, some good journalism in The Sunday Times:

He didn’t watch the PM on Dissett yesterday.
‘….He insisted that Labour’s election proposals were realistic and doable because they were well costed against economic projections made by the EU and the IMF. In contrast, PN promises were based on the government’s own economic growth projections, which the EU had shown to be wrong. This meant the PN, if in government, would have to raise taxes or not keep its promises.’
No, Joseph, EU projections ignored the 1 billion euros about to be injected into the economy.
With hindsight, he’ll get there, unless these won’t be available.
Din tigi minn Dr Pawlu Boffa, dak li Mintoff ghamillu daqstant hsara? Imissa tisthi.
He was her grandfather.
Thank God the P.N. isn’t using the same tactics, as the P.L., of having all their Billboards full of pretty women.
Where will they find them, The ones I know are all over sixty, all the young ones seem to have switched, just have a look of the at the University and MCAST rallies.
[Daphne – Look Silvio, you really are very trying. If you don’t want to vote, and if you want to vote Labour, just bloody well do it. There’s no need to struggle with your conscience, coming in here trying to justify your decision, because that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it. So fine, help elect Joseph Muscat and have that on your conscience instead. The people who helped elect Mintoff in 1971 (people like you and with your sentiments of today) were still feeling the guilt 40 years later, which is why they rushed to laud him when he died. It helped them feel better about their f**ked up decision that ended up laying waste to Malta.]
Sorry Daphne I really never intended being trying.
Yes you are right, I am indeed in a struggle with myself, as to what to do, and that is exactly why I write the way I do, hoping that someone might help me find the answer to what I should do.
Believe me it is not easy for me.
[Daphne – OK, Silvio, let’s keep it simple. Whatever you do, you’re going to get a government. That government is going to be either Labour led by Muscat or Nationalist led by Gonzi. Which one do you prefer? Remember that the choice is only between these two. There is no third option or even an option called ‘no government at all’. You’re going to have one of these two. Do you prefer Joseph? Then vote Labour or don’t vote. Do you prefer a PN government? Then vote PN. Are the current incumbents really annoying you? Then look at the candidates on your district and pick the new ones. As you know, I do not come from a Nationalist family. I come from a family that supported a party that ceased to exist. So the fact of choosing one of the two available options is obvious to me. I can’t say, oh, but those are not the parties I was brought up to respect. That is the choice: PN or MLP. Which do I like best? No contest, PN. End of story. Yes, there have been times when I thought I couldn’t be bothered, but it always came back to the same thing: whatever I do, I’m going to get a government. So I’d rather help choose it. Also, if you don’t vote, who are your peers? Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando. Not good.]
Can we have these instructions printed on every ballot sheet?
Silvio , it is very simple, why should there be a struggle in the first place?
Your very conscience is urging you not to switch or not vote PN.
I am one of those angry PN supporters who will vote for change but within the party. Simple – shove the old ones out and vote the new ones in.
Xi dwejjaq ghandek, Silvio.
Are Deborah Schembri and Cyrus Engerer included in these billboards.
Silvio, the Nationalist Party does not ferry students to debates like the MLP did just so there would not be a repeat of Sant’s fiasco.
Rest assured that the majority of the students will not risk their stipends or their employment prospects by voting Labour.
They can take hints from Varist and Dwardu and when they mark their vote they will not put an ‘X’ against a Labour candidate.
If it came to a NP victory by 1500 votes, mark my word the students would have made the difference.
Not fair. I can mention three good-looking Maltese men at the drop of a hat.
Kurt Farrugia, Toni Abela and Herbert il-Bumblu.
There you are.
Thank you Rover for the laugh and for giving us a ‘yardddstikk’ for measuring male beauty.
I think I now qualify as good-look’IN.
Don’t forget this one, lest he gets offended: http://www.google.com.mt/imgres?imgurl=http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Joseph-Muscat4.jpg&imgrefurl=http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2012/10/joseph-muscat-reinventing-himself-as-the-moses-who-led-us-through-fire-and-water-to-the-european-union/&h=350&w=250&sz=50&tbnid=EaYUHfNEmYhudM:&tbnh=99&tbnw=71&prev=/search%3Fq%3Djoseph%2Bmuscat%2Bphoto%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=joseph+muscat+photo&usg=__D719q7oYqFh01Bn3L2MJgBRVSj0=&docid=G4UHwpnXnrkaKM&sa=X&ei=tnwqUY6CMtGVswbG7oHgBw&ved=0CFQQ9QEwDA&dur=1380
Two and a half men, doesn’t count.
Re-engineering manager WTF job title is that? In my business it is always stolen technology
Lara Boffa, Business Process Re-engineering Manager. Yeah, right.
I’m voting to make Simon Busuttil PM. If that isn’t earth-shattering change, Silvio, I don’t know what else you need.
We’ll have a rational, liberal right wing politician with all the right connections and alliances in Europe, who spent the last ten years abroad.
count me in Baxxy!
So now we have Labour boasting of supporters in lordly houses owned by Hugh Anastasi. Not very much the proletariat residences, are they? The times they are a changing.
The PL have become PP.
