He really doesn’t give a damn about people. It’s quite amazing.
I’m still watching Super One. It’s fascinating. Right now, Joseph Muscat is moving through a packed crowd signing copies of his hagiography by Cyrus Engerer, a man nobody wants near his hard drive.
He is literally just taking the book and signing it, looking only at the book and not once at the face of even just one person who hands it to him.
If, occasionally, he glances up to see where the next book is coming at him and happens to see a face instead, he doesn’t engage AT ALL. His eyes flick right past the eager face, not registering it.
He’s beaming broadly, but he’s not smiling at anyone. He never takes a hand, kisses a cheek, hugs an admirer, asks a question, exchanges a kind word or pleasantry or does anything to signal to anyone that he has noticed he is moving through a crowd of people rather than stuffed animals.
It is just unbelievable, to the point of being frightening. The parallels with other self-declared Great National Leaders are all too clear.
And then some sad wretches are actually deluded into thinking that he cares because, having been alerted to the potential of a switcher, he rings them to stroke their ego until they melt over his shoes.
I wonder – are they the sort who believe an escort girl when she says that this is the best sex she has ever had in her life? Probably. If they are into escort girls, that is, which some of them are obviously not.

Those were exactly my thoughts as soon as I saw the picture of Joseph Muscat signing a book on timesofmalta.com yesterday. The morons worship him while he doesn’t even glance at them.

As a rotten spoiled child, he has no love for anyone except himself. When he attended the primary school in St. Paul’s Bay, he did not use the school bus like the other kids, which indicates he never developed any human interaction with other kids or siblings at that.
His parents used to drive him to school so that he could sleep in and avoid waking up early to catch the school bus.
Likewise, I seriously doubt he married Michelle for love beacuse he is emotionally incapable of such a thing and his body language in his public interactions with her is quite revealing.
He probably married her for one of two reasons: either to gain access and indirectly have control on Alfed Sant (she was his personal assistant) or to get that box ticked in his long-term plan to become a party leader/prime minister.
Very telling, especially his reasons for marrying Michelle. I rather suspect that both apply.
Michelle has said that her husband’s her soul mate. He’s never said anything at all about her, except to call her ‘Lil din’.
I almost, but not quite, feel sorry for her.
Don’t you remember the “Hobbuha ghax thobbkhom” speech?

The man is a Communist. He is also a pretrntious prat describing himself as an aspiring historian. Nowtgat he Got his valuable phd he will probably claim to not be aspring only. the thing is if the facts of history are not to his liking he twists or changes them. Such is the stuff our academics are made of. But hang on – who is the dean if the faculty of history? Oh it’s Dominic Fenech. Figures. So not only do they infiltrate the media but the history department too.
You should have become a psychologist: right on point!
He has a mentor who is the same aged 70+ and more frightening than this, only he hasn’t yet been given a country to run, or a diplomatic passport, as much as he’d like that.
A speech writer/ coach ex-ambassador aged 70+ who’s there for the post-election position he’s after.
A group of hugely incompetent MLP oldies holding the puppet strings whose work and plans already wrecked a Malta they corrupted before.
A second in command who at 65 is already ill with cancer, and whose careful work with Il-Guy (officially mandate) and involving the recommendation of changes within Joseph & Co over three years had as an end-result the out-manoeuvering of Anglu.
Another Deputy Toni Abela with whom The Great Leader is implicated in immoral and politically irresponsible decisions endorsing drug use and trafficking. Looking for Laburist Policemen is a requirement when dealing with the Police.
Help from friends like Tony Zarb’s Union.
A group of technical illusionist youngies at Super One whose work is to get the electorate mesmerised, including offering exposure to that part that will also fall like skittles.
A mob of misguided and suface-deep logical and analytical skills.
Emotions are paraded on/off. If you are programmed to lie, emotions have to be in tight check. In a box.
When it’s time for the convincing. Out they come, along with a checklist of the right buttons to press. Emotions only exist on a scaled barometer that has been carefully worked upon. If possible dedicate the least possible time to delivery of emotions otherwise they will mess up the thinking for the new truths you are trying to establish as dogma, until refuted. Like this a distance is maintained so that questions cannot get too spontaneous and personal.
This sounds crazy doesn’t it? Only it isn’t. These are the techniques that Mintoff wanted Joseph to follow carefully. There is, too, a checklist of these operating techniques.
But deep down Joseph remains the puppy-dog reporter.
He is technique- and script- programmed and puppeted.
Was he “managed” as a reporter even back at the outset then, so that this is but a mere progression of things?
The question is, who is going to be running the country IF he is elected? Who is going to have those one to one conversations with leaders from other countries? Who is going to be responsible for the strategy of this country? Is he going to have some sort of prompter inserted? His mentor? The MLP gang?
They even managed to heavily edit the webchat clip with Joseph that was put up. Joseph can’t even think the online answers without team support and back-up I’ll bet you.
Another thing and another theme: the letters sent by the barman at the Safi club should have alerted Joseph. The fact that they didn’t begs the question: is this level of things normal at MLP/ Joseph & Co headquarters? So normal that no alerts were sounded? Are such cover-ups still the rule of the day, as they were back in Mintoff’s days? Hard to change established patterns. We have the answer now thank you. It just serves as reconfirmation. We knew it all along. There’s enough trace all over Joseph’s political career. The emotions applied in retrospect by Toni are not convincing either.
What is really frightening to me is that either the nature of reporting has changed over the last years, or we are seeing some very feebled and much diluted efforts, much dragging of the feet that go after evidence on anything that has to do with Labour. I do not doubt that Nathaniel at the Newsroom has more evidence in hand and is waiting for events to play out.
The level of spoon-feeding by Nationalist party politicians to journalists to try to get them to follow what should be an obvious lead in reporting an obvious lie – yet another – is embarrassing. It hurts that they are reduced to having to do that with the people on the island who go under the title of journalist or reporter. That lies are considered normal is equally pathetic and highly dangerous.
In the recent outburst by KZT, there was no denial of any sort of what was said by this blog and under this blog. One would have expected that, not an outburst at the nature of your blog and a question as to the responsibility you are prepared to carry as to feeding of comments – that would otherwise not see the light of day in this journalistic climate of quasi-pure inertia.
The fact that Daphne is far from inert and dedicated to a purer edition of politics may be tiresome. It may shame. It may ruin people’s other agendas. But it should serve as inspiration, hope, guidance, alarm and reminder. This is how I see her work and value it enormously. A priceless, vital and discerning voice. In fact, once one has adopted a public path, I see Daphne’s blog in that regard as focused on that public role or publicised persona adopted. One should therefore not feign surprise at a return of sorts, from people who were genuine with their emotion, who always accepted the version presented.
I always thought that intelligence included being able to work with difference of opinion, not exploitation of those that are barely able to arrive at one of their own. A difference of opinion is different to delivery of strategy.
When people point the finger claiming disaffection at all that has gone awry with the NP they should keep in mind the German expression: you cannot dance at two weddings at the same time.
It is the personal ethics of a handful of people – and then not those initially deceitfully targeted – that have gone awry, never the ethics of the Nationalist Party.
With Joseph & Co/ MLP the Party Politics, identity and ethics are so awry that what looked like acne 25 years ago has become gangrenous disease: no amount of touch-up can hope to conceal the pus and odour that will continue to ooze out.
So awry, in fact and deed repeated, that I cannot ever remember a straight, honest and normal moment, opinion or statement coming from them whether they’re joined, separate, inclusive, new or old. The nitty-gritty of it all hasn’t changed a jot.
