If I were 18 and this was being in, then I’d have wanted to be as far out as possible

Not to be rude and offensive or anything like that, but my God. If I were 18 and these were in, then I’d want to be out, out, out. And even further out.

This whole ‘I’m In’ thing, and the kind of young people trying to drum up enthusiasm for it (to say nothing of the clothes they wear) brings back memories of Nerds United who used to go on camping and praying weekends with priests and student leaders and folk guitars back when I was that sort of age.

They were like eager beavers, and about as cool and attractive as a coal bucket on fire.

Nothing’s changed, I see. Nothing new under the sun, as they say.

Nobody truly edgy would be seen DEAD in a T-shirt saying I’m In, because it marks you out as anything but.

Count me out
