No Labour logo for Toni Abela (mhux fier)
Toni Abela gave a press conference today. He did so at the request of his Great Leader, who gave notice of it at his own press conference at the Wignacourt Museum this morning (what on earth where they thinking, incidentally?).
But Toni wasn’t allowed to use the Malta Taghna Lkoll logo or that of the Partit Laburista. He stood on a plain white podium against a plain white background, like somebody already exiled from Il-Moviment JosephMuscatDotCom.
He talked bollocks. Then Manuel Mallia went on Bondi+ and talked some more of that. We don’t understand, he said. Toni Abela’s actions don’t show him to be a politician abusing of his position to trade in influence, but they show him to be an excellent lawyer.
Toni, Manuel said, only went down to the police station to explain to the police that they needn’t prosecute because this wasn’t a break-in at the Labour Party club, after all. It was somebody changing the locks to keep somebody else out.
So that’s all right then.
Errrr, but then why did Toni specify that he went in search of a ‘pulizija Laburist’, found one, and asked him not to proceed?
Wouldn’t any old policeman have done?
Apparently not, though Manuel Mallia did his best to justify it.
Poor old Anglu Farrugia got fired (ostensibly) for a remark about a magistrate (and forgive me my moment of smugness here). Toni Abela finds it necessary to seek out a ‘pulizija Laburist’ with whom to communicate his wishes, and he gets to stay.
Oh dear, oh dear – surely Joseph Muscat should be seizing at this deus ex machina and replacing Abela with another Abela, that gentlemanly soul who has decorated the garden at Verdala Castle with a nice plaque marking the baptism of his daughter.
Ara kemm ikunu pleased dawk li jahsbuhom tal-pepe.

Clyde Puli was extremely well prepared, clear and to the point and calm. Very effective.
Clyde Puli is making some very good appearances on TV.
The way he retorted to Ian Borg on Xarabank last week was excellent.

Mallia thought he was in a court of law on Bondi+.
Well, he should know that the public jury was not impressed with his oratory. I am morally convinced that the political unambiguous circumstantial evidence points to ‘guilty.’
Where is ‘political responsibility’ in this case? Toni Abela himself lectured so favourably about it some days ago on TV.
BUT, of course, that applies to someone else.
Kieku jien kont nghid “mort l-ghassa u sibt pulizija.” Full stop. Li inzid jekk il-pulizija kienx Laburist jew Nazzjonalist hija immaterjali jekk m’ghandiex xi skop iehor biex nuri l-kulur ta’ dan il-pulizjott.
Zunzana, meta Toni Abela kien qed jghid dak id-diskors ma kienx jaf li hemm xi hadd qed jirrekordjah, allura beda jiffanfra li m’nalla kien hu biex irranga kollox.
Issa certu pulizija ghandhom wicc ta’ Laburisti! Basta Malta Taghna Lkoll…
Pulizija ta’ Malta. Toni Dirige Nos.
Must agree with the comments re Clyde Puli. I never considered myself a fan of Clyde the politician but he sure was darn clear and straight to the point with very effective communication all through Bondi+ this evening. Well done Clyde.
Well done Clyde….
Toni Abela had the audacity to label this revelation as PN mudslinging, when his own boss made a career out of long-lasting mudslinging (if you call being a super one bully a career).
Clyde kien car u konvincenti.
Well done Clyde, lill kbir Mallia libbistlu kapell, iehor li sab kapell jigieh biex jghatti rasu u jahbi wiccu.
Well done Mr. Puli, always fresh, well prepared and to the point, you are definitely getting my Number 1 this coming election.
Domine dirige nos?
More like…
Domine adiuva nos!
Toni keeps saying that even though David Agius went to the police two years ago, he was never interrogated so the police don’t think its important.
Ma nafx ta, just my opinion – but if someone goes to the police to intervene in other people’s matters, that same person will speak to the police again to intervene in his own matters.
Malta Police: where is your public statement of integrity? Was there at least an internal call to order? All the Maltese should be able to trust you. If not in you, then in whom do we trust?
That you did not see fit to express this yet sends out a message louder than words.
The alarm has long since sounded.
Clyde is one of the candidates who the PN should be pushing most this election.
[Daphne – Yes, I agree. He was excellent yesterday. But I would definitely lose the bright purple tie.]
Clyde has improved greatly in delivery and has watered down many PL’s opponents so far. He should be congratulated. The difference between the two parties is so clear now.
