The shape of (ugly) things to come

shape of things to come

The Great Leader stands on his mobile pissoir (exactly like the sort you see on big nights outside bars in metropolitan centres) and, with his army massed to one side, addresses the meagre press huddled at a significant distance.

Why, exactly, does the Labour Party think that photographs like this help its cause?

This picture screams RIGHT WING AUTHORITARIANISM. No wonder Norman Lowell and his on/off lover Arlette (Letty) Baldacchino have told members of their Imperium Europa to vote Labour on 9 March.

Progressive and liberal, my eye – trid tkun il-vera zmagat jew injorant biex ma tarax il-verita.

A comment in The Times dating back to 2008:

Following the appointment of a CEO to clip Jason’s wings, the operative of this commission is the second vote of no confidence by Joseph in the party delegates. He is rendering them capable only of rubber stamping his decisions.

    This was the article:
    http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20080908/local/mlp-appoints-commission-to-oversee-internal-changes.224050

Karmenu Vella and Louis Grech working closely together on internal changes. Anglu Farrugia gets lopped. Louis steps up. 2nd Republic looming.

    What next?

Imperivm Europa have Dysfunctional ideologies and phoney principles … now I understand why they’re encouraging people to vote Labour.

An open message to Chris Cardona, PL.

I thank you for the spam SMS messages you send, despite my having unsubscribed from your “service” which in any case was possible only because my and other persons’ phone numbers were obtained illegally and abusively.

I was going to be overseas on the 9th of March, but in view of the fact that I should be doing my best to ensure that people with attitudes like yours – i.e. utter disdain for correctness and a propensity to bend rules to accommodate, i.e. a pathetic “u ijja kollox jghaddi” and “nirrangaw” mentality; I will be amending my travel plans to be here on the 9th and vote PN.

Thanks again for steeling my resolve, that’s all I needed.

Someone seems to have cropped Joseph Muscat’s head with a ruler

It’s probably EXTREME right wing authoritarianism.

He was probably advised to keep the media at a distance so that they would be unable to recognise the overly familiar faces of his 86 candidates.

Most of them have been around since the 1970s.

In their attempt to get back to power, they have changed leadership four times since Dom Mintoff. Has is not crossed their mind that they are the real problem?

  7. bob-a-job says:

If Joseph Muscat somehow manages to lose this election when all odds are (unjustly) in his favour, that podium will become his scourging pillar.

While it is true that a large number of people feel let down by this government and the PM in particular, something clearly reflected in all popularity polls, there is really no comparison between the two main parties.

This is not a question of choosing the lesser of two evils. It is most unfair to make that statement although I have been tempted to make it my self on a few occasions, in truth a chasm divides the two main parties.

If one were to put aside one’s frustrations, hurt and feelings of revenge for the two short minutes it takes to fill a ballot vote, one would without doubt vote PN, not for what it has done or failed to do but for what it has achieved.

Another blast from the past and no matter the outcome or details of the case, was it pure coincidence that it was heard under this particular magistrate?

On RAI UNO once I saw how Benito Mussolini tactfully placed his desk in the corner of his huge office, and visitors were made to enter from the far end of the hall, and walk a long way while he’s sitting at his desk. This made visitors feel inferior to Il Duce.

I think this picture proves what was said on TV:

Interestingly he was the youngest Italian prime minister to be elected and was also a journalist. He was an expert in propaganda and all editors had to have a secret licence approved by the fascist party , he used to edit his party’s paper.

He was a Socialist.Owing to his father’s political leanings, Mussolini was named Benito after Mexican reformist President Benito Juárez, while his middle names Andrea and Amilcare were from Italian socialists Andrea Costa and Amilcare Cipriani.

History repeats itself in different ways , it seems.

  10. Last Post says:

The Labour Party, at least since Mintoff, has only posed as left-wing. Their attitude and policies have been right-wing and authoritarian through and through.

The present version of the LP is a complete sham. They may call themselves and pose as liberal and progressive but their followers, their attitudes and manipulations are as right-wing as you can get.

I agree with you – trid tkun il-vera zmagat jew injorant biex ma tarax il-verita.

Let’s be careful here. Right wing is not synonymous with authoritarian. I’m as right wing as they come, but I’m also uber liberal.

Vera telaq minn mohhu. Does he think the journalists carry the plague? Or is it a way of preventing them from asking him questions unless a microphone is given to them.

  12. P Shaw says:

The level of press reporting is so appalling, that frankly speaking, these ‘journalists’ are being treated by the MLP exactly as they are perceived to be – glorified transcript writers.

It’s their own doing. They don’t even dare to ask the right questions because they are intimidated. There is no grilling of MLP politicians. They just report what they are told or given in a transcript.

Look at how the PN press conference today was reported by the Times vs other newspapers.

The Times reporter left out (probably intentionally) the most important piece of information, i.e. that Muscat and Edward Scicluna are shooting projections from the hip.

While Muscat is projecting GDP growth at 4% under his premiership, Scicluna tried to ridicule the PN projections by stating that GDP growth over 2% is highly optimistic

An extreme right wing party telling people to vote for a socialist party … no.. wait a minute…what is the Labour Party exactly? A joke.

The podium is evolving at an alarming rate. Soon it will be shooting rainbows from the back and large caliber rounds from the front.

No wonder Joseph Muscat is a chubby chubster.

What is Michelle feeding the family!

Yeck.. Oatmeal gruel or najna bil-Malti.

If that is supposed to be a tuna casserole then she had better enroll in some cooking classes.

That’s the healthy eating Joseph is consuming: ross-il-forn.

You know ,after his workout in his inseparable black shoes and socks, he needs carbohydrates !

Are those shoes waterproof? Does he enter the shower with those shoes on?

I wait for Gorg and Pawlu for their version of “A day in the life of…”

      • ken il malti says:

If that is her version of ross-il-forn then I would hate to see what mess of a dish she would make out of timpana.

Some people can’t cook if their life depended on it.
